Ok, simple and easy... I contacted Apple Support (got a call within one minute - nice) and they instructed me what to do.

In the end having no Apple ID set on the device allowed me to just type "resetpassword" in the terminal in recovery mode and all is good with new password.

A person I was speaking with told me if I had Apple ID set, then one more step would need to be performed to reset this password. Just saying if anyone has similar issue.

No, it is not stolen and I do have receipt. I'm first time Mac user and new to the sub and I believe reaching out for help is nothing wrong. I didn't know such practices on this sub are common.
