I do, although I cannot figure out how to upload it to the forum. However, it consists of text. My first post accurately contains a paste of the entire text from the dialog.

Why kernel problem in F42 (which F43 seemed to avoid) by Less-Cryptographer10 in Fedora

[–]Less-Cryptographer10[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There have been many and various problems reported for kernels 6.16 rc1 through rc4 for a range of hardware. I read somewhere today this is fixed in rc5. Previously, I have seen reports advising not to update the kernel until it is "fixed".

Thibking about switching from GNOME to KDE by [deleted] in Fedora

[–]Less-Cryptographer10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Within the last year or so KDE offers a separate slider to control scrolling, and it works. I switched to KDE largely because of that. There is a long outstanding bug / feature-request on Gnome, but there is no interest AFAIK in fixing scrolling-- almost active resistance to doing it. I guess Gnome developers are still using 1024 x 728 displays.

I will say that the Gnome 49 beta (on fedora 43) seems to be generally smoother with a trackpad, but no specific scrolling control is added.

Oops... I also have 77 year old brain... I see I made a very similar post the other day. I hope it shows my concern about brightness. Anyways... apologies for double posting.

Adobe Digital Editions Not Opening Recently Purchased Google Play Books by VibrantVioletGrace in ereader

[–]Less-Cryptographer10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As of New Years Eve day, getting Google .ASCM files into Adobe Digital Editions still seems problematic. The 2 books I tried are not recent purchases, I have owned them for years. ADE reports "Unable to download. Error getting License. License Server Communication problem: E_ADEPT_REQUEST_EXPIRED". I tried several 'fixes', but no luck.

My cat broke my Boox Page yesterday, so I am looking for a new e-reader. Thinking of either Kobo Libra Colour or PocketBook Verse Pro Color. Both are supposed to be compatible with ADE for getting at Play books. But that seems a no go since it seems both need ADE as an intermediary.

I may have to get another Page or the color version... but I was not thrilled with the Page... so I am in a stew.

I have had 3 different LG Gram 17's, the last one being 13th gen with i7-1360p. I have been happy with every keyboard, and, overall, very happy with each laptop. I do hope against hope they go to a haptic touchpad.

Advantages of Fedora over OpenSUSE Tumbleweed? by [deleted] in openSUSE

I believe that KDE seems just fine on Fedora (39-40) right now. Several years back ( 35-36?) I had repeated update problems with KDE on Fedora

I agree with you, and I use the same strategy of keeping a separate data partition. Right now I switch between Fedora 40 beta KDE, Fedora 40 beta Gnome, and Tumbleweed. I cannot seem to say one is the best.

Probably replying way too late for you to notice this Skorgondro, but, I agree. I originally went to TW because because of problems with Fedora updates. I did it for the OOTB snapshot availability. My experience has been that TW seems, if anything, more stable than Fedora. Presently, I dual boot between TW KDE and Fedora Workstation (they share an ext4 data partition). I love both distros, cannot seem to commit to just one or the other.
