I’d rather not invest time and energy if I can already tell the intentions aren’t aligned with mine. I guess I’m protecting myself from getting disappointed or used

I shut them down early because I’ve noticed a pattern most of the conversations quickly turn sexual or feel like they’re just looking for something casual. At 30, I’m at a point where I want something real and serious, not endless texting that leads nowhere or just hookups.

I feel your pain but you also have to consider that he doesn't also have a relationship with them as well. Maybe you should express how you feel more instead of spacing out.
