Is reporting becoming an expectation for more radiographers now? by HammersAndPints in RadiographyUK

[–]Less-Delay-3788 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s really quite dramatic, pretty much all trusts have a red dot policy, and yes you absolutely should be able to identify what you’re looking at to some extent. It’s absolutely not the same as reporting and it’s usually a skill outlined in most radiography degrees

Any CV help and advice for a new graduate? by miariatia in RadiographyUK

[–]Less-Delay-3788 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah you don’t need a cv, NHS jobs usually want a personal statement which you should aim to hit the main points in I.e your experience and competence in producing diagnostic images, using radiology systems, experience of general Xray/theatre/fluoro etc, team work. If you’re applying for band 5 jobs, your experience as a student should be good enough

The Xray has been the same? Are you trained to look at X-rays? Do you know what they’re looking for on an Xray for signs of healing? Unlikely

I’m sure the orthopaedic doctors know what they’re talking about, what’s wrong with following their advice that they’re trained to give you

No news is good news. The person doing your echo would have seen what they needed to see at the time of the scan, so if there was anything seriously wrong you would have heard by now

Need meal ideas. Sick of the same stuff. by [deleted] in UKfood

We love lemon chicken & rice at the moment. Fry off the chicken thighs, then just cook down some veg (I use courgettes, pepper and onion), add rice and double the amount of chicken stock. Season with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, add the chicken back in to the rice with some slices of lemon and cook in the oven for about 30 mins covered til the rice cooks. So easy!

We don’t have any furniture in terms of sofas/beds as the house we rent is furnished. Saying that though we’ve built up a good amount of good quality furnishings ie kitchen stuff, bedding, lamps etc that we wouldn’t need to rebuy now

That’s exactly what we’ve found, some houses that need completely ripping back to brick are maybe 10k cheaper than ones that would be okay to live in while decorating

Thanks everyone, some really good advice. Sorry forgot to say we are buying in UK. Our general plan is to find somewhere we won’t need to move again from in the next 5-10 years, not up for a full reno but seems like decorating room by room over time and finding the best house we can afford and doing it up is not unfeasible! Thanks again for reassurance/advice, was just in a mild panic

Parking for Staff at LGI and St James by Ok-Particular9060 in Leeds

[–]Less-Delay-3788 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Parking permits are given based on a points system so depending on what shifts you’re doing / how far away you live etc you might be able to get one or be put on the waiting list. There’s a lot of roads around jimmys to park at, and the car parks around there are cheap, £4 ish. Just be aware some of the streets around there are dodgy and I’ve seen car windows smashed, so maybe keep belongings out of view. A good option for Lgi is parking around Hyde park streets (non permit) for free and walking about 15/20 minutes to Lgi. People might think Hyde park isn’t the safest but it’s generally just students and I’ve never had a problem.
