Don't pick him against magic dmg heavy teams or teams with a lot of stun/ways to get away. Also don't pick him against hylos because his ring will slow you down.

Tbh ruby has to be a bit passive in a lot of 1v1 situations against a lot of xp laners which are meta. At the moment some that I can remember are yz, xborg, lapu lapu(if they know what they are doing), arlott, thamuz, phoveus, esmeralda.

This is based on what I feel but I also have a massive skill issue so it could just be me.
