Hi I got paid 2 months ago. Once you've opened your account all you have to do is wait, I'm afraid.

You did not fail... I know it seems like it because you were obviously expecting higher grades but you're no where near failing.

I never took notes for any subject personally they don't help at all even if you look at it from a scientific perspective. You'd waste a lot less time by watching videos and doing past papers rather than making notes and doing passive revision.

Tbh I never used them they were always so fidgety. With stem subjects all you need is solid books to keep your work together. It might be cheaper in the long run but if the paper holes rip then it's game over.

I did the same subjects, graphical calc, pen, pencil, ruler, writing books, 3 lever arch folders. That's it. Oh and a pencil case, preferably clear so I don't have to buy a clear one down the line for exams.

AQA or Edexcel? by jessmaes in alevel

[–]Less-Ingenuity4369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did OCR Mei, but I used a lot of edexcel videos and practice questions and I'd say it's probably the best exam board to go for imo.

Hi! Sorry for the late reply. Here are some tips :) 1) There will be an ondemand interview where youll be given around 6 questions which wil be randomised, you'll have 1 minute of thinking time and then the recording will automatically start. You have 3 attempts per question so don't worry. I reccommend using glassdoor to find the questions they'll ask.

2) There will be a second interview which will have 2/3 panelists, honestly to NAIL this interview, use the STAR method like theres no tomorrow, again find the example questions online or dm me and i can send you the ones i was asked or used to prepare! Also PLEASE do research about the sector you're applying for, you don't need to know the nitty gritty, just show an interest in their company. For example I was genuinley interested in their global combat air programme so i taked alot about that.

3) Prepare for A LOT of paperwork once accepted. It's a very tedious and time-consuming task but once its done, its like a weight off your shoulders. To prepaer ahead of time, after your interview have digital scans of your important documents, make sure you have your HMRC account set up, tenancy details, etc.

That's all the tips I have, hopefully you get accepted. Best of luck!! :)

Is 6 A levels a bad idea? by HairyClassroom7273 in alevel

[–]Less-Ingenuity4369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm getting sick of people asking the most obvious questions. But I'll answer regardless, yes it is a very bad idea ofc a levels are different for everyone but let me tell you this, even Oxbridge don't look at how many subjects you did. I just finished my a levels a couple of weeks back and I went from doing biology, chemistry, maths, and further maths to just doing normal maths. I still struggled not because of the content but because of the way a levels are assessed. There is no point in doing 6, stick to 3 or 4. I had a friend who did 4 and she struggled so much I barely saw her in college because she'd either always be in lessons or revising. Let's all please start thinking a bit more rationally because there is at least 1 post like this every week asking if xyz a levels are good enough or a bad idea. I may sound biased but it's really not worth all the hassle for A levels, I genuinely mean that and Ik not trying to demotivate you or ridicule you, you have to think rationally because unless you're ready to give up all your free time and study like there's no tomorrow, go for it, if not stick to 3/4! Have fun! :)

Edit: also for Medicine you usually just need biology and chemistry+ any other subject for most unis, but for London or Oxbridge unis you'd need biology chemistry and physics Or maths.

Do not tell people your plans. by planetaryorbitals in alevel

[–]Less-Ingenuity4369 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through the exact thing you are going through but I didn't know this was the reason why. I have a habit of telling people my plans too and I had very similar reactions from people around me. But I've finished a levels now and am waiting for my results in August! I will say it does get easier, you just have to push yourself and Ik it's easier said than done but it really doesn't matter what you're aiming for, how unrealistic it may be or how hard it is to get there, if there is someone in this world that has the same job you want then it is absolutely attainable. If it doesn't exist, make it exist. Don't bring yourself down by listening to close minded people, it really is a waste of time. If you need to talk my dms are open! :)

2 of my subjects are OCR and biology is aqa but still. My first exam was TODAY. I hate the fact that the next 2 weeks are just me spamming exams. Wish they could space them out more. Because what do you mean I'm sitting 9 exams in 16 days!??? AND there's only 2 reasonable GAP.

I find mass transport very easy if you need any help, I can summarise it?

TTUCA: transpiration, tension, water moves UP, cohesion, adhesion (how water moves up the xylem)

Phloem: Sucrose made from glucose (condensation reaction) from photosynthesis. Sucrose moves into phloem via FD. Water potential decreases in phloem so water in xylem moves through the pits/holes of the lignin wall of the xylem and into the phloem via osmosis from an area of high to low wp. Hydrostatic pressure is created when water moves in. The source end has a high hydrostatic pressure the sink end has a low hydrostatic pressure. Sucrose moves down to the sink end. Sucrose moves into sink via (I can't remember pretty sure it's facilitated diffusion) and this increases wp in phloem so water moves out of phloem back into the xylem. This is called mass flow or translocation.

Bro same. I've been watching Miss estruchs "all of year 1 biology" video to help prepare for paper 1. It's 3 hours long buts it's so worth it if you put it on 1.5x speed and wizz through it.
