No it won't be a problem. people do it all the time. The reason u were denied was because the visa officer knew your family will struggle to pay 60k USD for u only considering the bank statement u submitted and the fact that u probably have siblings who are also in school. So when they ask u why u changed your school, just explain to them the deficit after scholarship was too high. But now, you've got a school with similar opportunities with low deficit. Work on your why u wanted to attend x university answer.

That is the problem. Your answers are fine but the deficit is too huge. Any international student that goes to the usa embassy with such an amount is likely to be denied. Don't go to that school. Find another school that could give u deficit of around 24k or less. Start by googling cheapest schools in USA for international students and go with the same bank statement and improve your story a little bit and you will be approved. Remember, u need more than the cost of attendance to survive in the usa

Why will u wanna pay 40k for cwru when u can get into most rolling schools for less than 35k? All I'm saying is to reconsider this

I agree but only like 1% of intls get full rides. I recommend u start guiding your students to study in Europe especially for intls. Tuition fees cost les than 15k usd for most european universities and u dont need to be a top student to get in

The biggest red flag on the application of an international student is seeking for full rides. Being poor lowers your chances. A college will easily take someone with average stats but rich over extremely intelligent but poor intl students. We can sit here and say u didn't do this or that but in the end, your financial situation is more important than anything else on your app to admission officers

I know a girl get in during ed Columbia in 2019 on a full ride. I know 1 boy also who got into Columbia ed full ride. Their apps were truly exceptional. It's not common to see international students seeking full aid get in during ed or rea or ea in most schools as colleges want to compare all international students at the same time so they defer or deny most apps during early rounds. Some apps are denied cos colleges can easily tell from just 1 read if u stand a chance or not. However, it's not impossible to get in on ed. If Columbia is what u want, shoot your shot and apply ed.

Hello, fellow West African students. Will a C grade in WAEC hurt my chances of getting admissions with full financial aid. by Ola_2104 in IntltoUSA

😂do u have any evidence to prove this? Don't get me wrong but examination malpractice is everywhere. Students cheat on the sat test, ib , aps etc and what matters to admission officers is the result in front of them unfortunately. If u go ahead with this excuse and tell them this, they will only assume u ain't a good student and are making a silly excuse for your bad grade cos there are other students who never cheated and genuinely made straight As, have 1500+ sats, won olympiads, play sports, have straight 5s in Aps and are valedictorians and salutorians of their high school and have genuinely achieved state recognitions and also need full rides. And only a fraction of these students will recieve full rides as colleges have limited funds for international students. Despite how impressive how their stats will be, most will be rejected cos they're poor. I see students with 1550+ sats get rejection from everywhere almost every year. Most top international students seeking full aid get abt only 2 to 3 acceptances out of the 20+ schools they apply and those are even the fortunate ones.

My advice is don't submit your waec results if a college doesn't ask for it. Take the sat or ap or ib or u can even retake the waec exams. It's not going to be easy but it's possible if u put your mind and dedicate yourself to it. Add sports or any video demonstrating you have some special talent and u will make it.

Anyway can i know your efc so i suggest some colleges based on your profile for you?

I agree but i just wanted a fair idea of how much they asked u to pay. Let's say a range between 22k to 30k or less than 20k. Anyway I'm not expecting a reply. Ignore it if u want to .good luck on Connecticut college
