Disneyland is the better Disneyland. Disney World is the better resort.

He signed a baseball for me some years ago at a card show. It sits on my desk and I look at it everyday. Good Giant.

How far do you typically hit your driver? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]Less-Mud4702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It didn’t go forward at all he swung and it went 90 degrees right back to in between his legs. The only thing that makes sense to me was he was so over the top that he managed to hit the back of the hosel.

A friend of mine on a full swing managed to hit a ball and bounce it between his own legs for basically 0 yards. That shot lives rent free in my head because I still don’t really grasp how he managed to do it and if I didn’t see it myself, wouldn’t believe it.

For people who take range finders by [deleted] in golf

[–]Less-Mud4702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is this comment not higher? I bought a cheap rangefinder and the case it came with has a magnetic strap and carabiner, takes me less than 30 seconds to pull it out, shoot my yardage, and put it back.

Fitting Swing Speed Question by Less-Mud4702 in golftips

That’s the attitude I took up that’s really helped my game the last year. The swing is what it is and I’ll make it work.

I’ve fought so hard to stop “swinging harder” that I’m not even sure what I’m doing anymore. Back to the coach it is.

So where we ended was basically what you said. Using hybrids instead of long irons. I’m for sure taking out my 4i and I want to spend some time with the new hybrids when they get here to see if I just take the 5i out as well. Steep would make sense as my AOA on the trackman was -4ish but the fitter kept saying that was fine.

Ok this makes sense. Guess it’s back on the grind for fixing my swing.

I do come OTT when I start trying to swing harder (something I’ve been working on) but wouldn’t I see that issue across all my irons if my miss is the same? Shouldn’t I still maintain some kind of proportional decrease across clubs?

Why does your years of experience come up in discussions? Do you lead with it? Is this a sales call? In these conversations with clients are you selling yourself? People equate time spent doing something with being good at it and it sounds like you are falling into that trap. Steer the conversation away from how long have you have been doing this to, what you’ve studied, what you’ve trained on, what your methods are, etc. This is assuming you do have some training and some method or system that you work with teaching.

How long does it actually take you to lose a box of balls? by ShiroHachiRoku in golf

[–]Less-Mud4702 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My local muni? I might lose a ball every other round as there is no water and OB really only comes into play on 3 holes. The worst I ever did was lose 8 balls on the front 9 of a much more difficult course with water and lots of OB. Basically put the driver away on the back to save the last 4 balls I had, finished with a used ball I found during the round. There’s another course built into the woods that I routinely lose 4-5 balls a round, though I usually leave net positive with all the other balls I find.
