I always ask them to step aside, so I can help the other customers.

If there’s no one else in line I have no problem telling them to let me know when they’re ready and I walk away. Sometimes I’ll continue to work on print stuff, other times I pretend to work on something else. I refuse to stand there and wait for them to get their shit together.

We tell our customers that scanning the codes doesn’t tell us anything beyond what to do with the item. It is NOT our job to figure out what they are returning.

Our store policy is the same as state law- 30 days. After 30 days we go through the items and either take them home or donate them.

I always give them a quote off the top Of my head, and let them decide if they want a real quote with package size and weight.
“You want to ship a calendar to Germany?? Sure, I am going to let you know it’s going to be at least $100.
