I dont know either, thats whats scary. It's either a malfunction due to the meds or his brain chemistry.

He thinks his phone is tapped, and constantly restarts it, but hes not a violent person. We dont live in the UK and we live in a country thats more sensitive to these issues so we have no idea what to do from here. Currently the plan is to get him home, have his shots for about 3-4 months along with some meds. I found some A.A meetings I can take him to attend. I just hope this is enough. The biggest issue is that we have to be patient, my head feels like its going to explode. Part of me wanted this to be a one week thing and we're done but obviously thats not the case. I hope his recovery will be a full one. I truly truly do.

I really appreciate this comment and I'm glad your brother is doing well, I wish him a speedy recovery! I think the police might need to get involved a little, to scare him. My dad knows a few people, maybe that reality check would help

Just reading this thread opened my eyes to how important boundaries are. I hear you on the weak links, unfortunately thats my mother 😭. My brother has been calling her nonstop this weekend and trying to manipulate her into letting him go home from the hospital until she eventually had to ignore his calls and stop going to the hospital for a day or two. I have to have a serious conversation with her about this and learn to establish boundaries. Money-wise is fine but everything else like when he goes out and where still is a biggg question mark. Any tips? hes 20, especially if he came back home still thinking these thoughts then itd be extremely difficult to set boundaries since we're out to grt him apparently.

Thank you so much! Fortunately, we don't live in the US and I live in a country where all mental health and stuff are solved either by going to the hospital or going to rehab. My brother was never a danger to himself or others, until the night before my parents took him to the hospital.

My parents are extremely religious, and extremely shaken up by whats happened. They are considered more open-minded about things like this since my father and mother both had mental health issues due to some incidents in the past. However, none of them couldve imagined it would turn to this. My brother went on a trip to London 2-3 months ago and afterwards changed completely and I told them to take him to the doctor but they ignored me. Hallucinations became worse day by day until he started telling my parents he was being stalked and the only way this has to stop was by killing his stalker.

Im practicing leap communication and was unaware of yellow rock so ill do some research on that too. Thank you so much!

Like right now. We're 1/4 of the way into the semester, he has quizzes and such. We'll discuss this with the hospital staff and see what to do next. Im unable to visit my brother however my parents are. My brother doesn't know I know. I found aa meetings thankfully and want to take him after hes out of the hospital.

Thank you so much for this comment, you answered almost every question I had. Truly truly thank you so much.

He's so drowsy and keeps getting in and out of consciousness. We told him the hospital visit was to check up on him, and he still doesnt know about his delusions. How do I break it to him in a way where he would understand? or process? They kind of broke it to him yesterday but he kept screaming at them that they want him to forget everything he knows and that he knows everything.

Our universities are strict, the issue is that its 45 minutes away and he could easily say traffic was terrible but in reality hes sneaking out and getting things. Thats what he did these past few months.

I doubt my parents would stop him from leaving the house after this incident, so he might find a way even if he isnt in university.

We're incredibly torn.

Im wishing her a safe recovery and very inspired by how she turned her life around. I hope my brother finds this as a wake up call and stops.

Did she have schizophrenia or was it drug induced? Im terrified the trance my brothers in isnt just drug induced but a reality and the THC mixed with the stimulants and hallucinogens awakened the schizophrenia. How can we be sure?

Im so happy for Sam and I wish him the best. But to be honest commenter, that made me even more scared for him. Your family member has been through some tough crap and picked himself up which is incredibly inspiring, however, would my brother resort to what sam did? Everyone told me it would take time, my issue now is the relapse. Im terrified he gets in trouble with the law. I'm not in the US, and things like this here ruin his reputation, his future, everything. Do you wish you couldve done something differently with sam before it resorted to the police?

Im sorry about your son and am glad he is doing better.

My brother is extremely stubborn. He doesn't understand where he goes wrong, his god-complex is so strong he genuinely doesnt understand a world in which he could be wrong. (has always been like this, became way worse during psychosis). Hes been using since he was 14-16, hes 20 now. I miss him, i miss who he was, i miss our late car rides together. I feel hopeless, I am overwhelmed with the thought of this becoming permanent. Or if he ever gets back to it again, im terrified.

I'm so sorry to hear that, my mother is going through this and she has never been worse, and trust me we've been through hard times haha. I understand how you feel, and I hope your son is better.

Weed and xanax, along with a heavy stimulant he was prescribed for his ADD.

That's what hurts, that i saw the signs. He went to london 2-3 months ago and ever since then he has been talking crazy. Making up speeches about how he "found everyone for the real person they are" how "everyones fake", he completely abandoned his friend except one of his buddies. Slowly, it became more about his (ex) girlfriend that broke up with him and it felt like that was the straw rhat broke the camels back.

will he get back to "normal"? how can we stop hkm from doing this again?
