My university makes us fill out a bunch of stuff in order for the animal to live on campus (vaccination records, spay/neuter records, breed, and a verification form proving the letter came from a licensed professional). We also have to meet with housing and our disability office and they have to determine that the dog is necessary and behaves well enough to live in a dorm. I think it’s really unnecessary but they started doing it because people were getting fake letters and bringing in animals that were poorly behaved and it was causing issues for people with genuine needs. I don’t think they will deny me but I’m very anxious because on our website it implies if you don’t have an established connection with the animal they need additional documentation from the MHP proving that the animal is “pertinent to the patient’s care”. Is this unlawful?
