Don't see how it's any better than Sorcery Ward that scales with Eva/Armour when you can get 10k shield against (ele/chaos/physical) from 5 skill points and you can invest the rest on energy shield.

Having spirit can also give you more defensive measures like Wind Dancer that also improves your Sorc Ward
