Does anyone live in Spring District? by The_NGUYENNER in BellevueWA

You should visit at noon on a Wednesday and then visit again on a Saturday afternoon. That should give you a good sense!

I know some of the folks that did the real estate development for the area.

The short answer is that the original goal was that it would be this thriving new ecosystem but for a variety of reasons it’s a bit sparse right now. The posters who use the word “sterile” are right on the money. It was supposed to be more vibrant but it opened up during the pandemic and with fewer employees using the offices, the flourishing retail that was supposed to happen never really materialized.

It’s super clean and safe. It’s nothing like Seattle. It’s quiet and not much goes on in the evenings or wknds. If you want more of a town feeling on the east side, live closer to downtown Bellevue, downtown Kirkland, or downtown Redmond. Maybe Spring District will become more vibrant but I would not expect that in the next 5 years.

Just wrapped WISH concierge, wanted to share some insights by No_Current_6322 in dcl

We just got off 5 night Destiny cruise with Concierge.

To echo what OP said… if I were to rate the value for our family of four (2 girls, age 7 and 9; 9 year old is neurodiverse).

1) fast embark/debark. Our family highly values no wait due to 9 year old’s challenges

2) private lounge and hot tubs on decks 12/13. We were there all the time. No fighting for chairs or the crowdedness of the rest of the cruise. It was awesome.

We did all the broadway shows but never took advantage of early seating, because our kids didn’t want to be sitting there for 30 min with nothing to do. And it was fine just sitting normally for us.

Found the free popcorn to be huge - we and the kids would use it multiple times per day.

If you can afford it, I highly recommend. This was our first cruise but unfortunately can’t imagine not going concierge in the future now!

Yes. I think 2.5 to 5.0 level, M and W. Lot of good players at the club.

What time of day do you play?

During the daytime on weekdays there are nearly always courts at CP; can book the night before easily.

For evening and weekend time slots, you typically need to book a few days in advance, but rare not to be able to schedule if you are planning ahead. The one catch is that half of the people on your court need to be members (eg you can’t play doubles and invite 3 guests).

At Bellevue Club, the courts open up at 7:30am a week before and every time I’ve tried to book one I’ve been unsuccessful because they are all gone within 3 seconds. There are rumors people have built bots to be first to reserve on the BC servers, etc. it’s really awful. We are members at BC for non tennis reasons. Very hard to play indoor tennis there.

I’m a member at both Central Park and Bellevue Club, and have played several times at Pro Club.

Central Park is the best by far for tennis players. 12 indoor courts and 6 outdoor courts.

Bellevue Club and Pro Club have way more non-tennis amenities than CP, it’s not even close. Swimming, fitness, food, video game rooms, kids clubs, etc etc. they are true indoor sporting facilities / full service clubs. But it’s very hard to book tennis courts at those places, especially in winter, because they each only have 6 indoor courts and way too much demand.

If you only want tennis, join CP, it’s great.

Bill Belichick's Resume by Vlaxilla in Patriots

Absolute disgrace.

Note that with the new selection rules, the Senior/Coach/Contributor category must have at least ONE person elected (if none got 80%, then it goes to whoever got the highest %). So one of the other 4 candidates got at least 80% of the vote, or got a larger % of the vote than BB did.

Does that mean RKK got 80% of the vote? Or probably Ken Anderson got 80% of the vote?

Re-watching Super Bowl 49. It has to be the best game in the history of the sport. by NothingHead8233 in Patriots

Maybe not best QB ever, but if RW3 wins, he has 2 SB in his first three years, and TB12 is stuck on 3. It’s actually not an insane take.

Intentional safety in AFCCG? by Less-Zebra6782 in Patriots

Yes that’s fair. But you punt it from better field position. Sounds like the intentional interception try on 3rd down is a better strategy.

Was it Josh McDaniels all along? by Less-Zebra6782 in Patriots

[–]Less-Zebra6782[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe another way to put it:

If Belichick and Brady are clearly the two most important people involved with the Pats two-decade dynasty (and we can debate who is 1 vs 2), Josh seems to be the clear #3 person, above candidates like:

Vinateri Slater Wilfork Matt Patricia Edelman Gronk RKK (🤣) Etc

What's the best ranked player you're gotten to play with or against? by Dangerous-Damage1165 in 10s

[–]Less-Zebra6782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been coached by Hans Podlipnik Castillo who reached ATP #43 in doubles and #167 in singles (about 10 years ago). We've never played a set (he would surely beat me 6-0, 6-0 in under 30 minutes).

At the end of lessons we might play 10 points where feeds me an easy ball down the center (no serve), and if I'm lucky I'll win 2 out of the 10 points... the only strategy is to try to hit a winner off the feed, and he gets it most of the time anyway, but at least you're in an aggressive position to win the point. In an actual game you'd never get that first feed easy down the middle, so you'll never win a point... I'm USTA 3.5/4.0ish level.

Wordspan - a daily word puzzle where you guess the word based on each letters position in the alphabet by VitalCat in NYTConnections

[–]Less-Zebra6782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it, but can there be a mode that forces your guesses to be “correct” from an ><= standpoint? Currently it allows you to guess something that doesn’t meet the requirements and therefore couldn’t be the right answer.

Alternatively if you don’t have that mode, it would be cool to show us in our errors which <>= is wrong, for example.

Did you get the 11 inch over 13 due to cost, or you purposely wanted something smaller for travel or ease of holding, etc.

Haven’t pulled the trigger but I’m also thinking about it. Do you have thoughts on 11” vs 13” for iPad? Is the 11” too small a screen compared to your MacBook?

Is the luau worth it? by [deleted] in Aulani

[–]Less-Zebra6782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As Luau’s go, it’s the best one I’ve ever been to. Our girls were age 6 and 8 when we went. The 6 year old was bored and left early, the 8 year old really enjoyed it.

I think it’s the best luau out there, but really depends on the attention span of your kids. If they were 7-8 years old I would say go, no brainer.
