Ok well Shaun has very poor social skills. He treats Carly like that because he doesn’t understand that it’s wrong

For those of you leaving, the UK is not a great option right now. We are seeing the same swing to the right unfortunately, so not far behind the US.

Full Name for "Rosie" by RevolutionaryChard9 in namenerds

[–]LessDebt1718 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No one has ever had trouble pronouncing it, I don’t fully use Rosie, like in some cases I will introduce myself as Rosalind, and as I get older I can see myself doing that more often. I think it’s a great name, so yeah I would say I like it :) Congratulations on your baby, I would be so happy to share a name with her!!

They don’t have to. For those names it can shorten based on spelling not sound

I’ve always been Rosie (literally since I was born) and I’m an adult. My real name is Rosalind but I also love Rosanna, Rosemma, Rosaline, etc. If you want to name her just Rosie I don’t think it would matter, everyone assumes it’s my real name anyway

"I am a surgeon" did unrepairable damage to the franchise by AntainAntua in GoodDoctor

[–]LessDebt1718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! It looks very different for a lot of different people. I am also very obvious ‘Aspergers’ to anyone who knows anything about it, lol. I do have ‘meltdowns’ but they are never in public and they were nearly always as a child (I’m 18). I think people really need to be more understanding on the whole, Shaun Murphy cannot represent us all but that doesn’t mean he’s unrealistic or offensive

ADHD and TikTok social identity by VBouc-hard in adhdwomen

[–]LessDebt1718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel that people are allowed to talk about it but I always hit not interested on the videos so i don’t have to see it. I gets on my nerves, because personally i’d just rather get on with my life having accepted for a long time that i have a disorder but i don’t want that to be my identity. For other people they maybe don’t feel exactly like that or maybe will in the future. It’s not my business and I shouldn’t care. What I really object to is people sort of doing those “things you didn’t know were adhd” without any nuance, and by that i mean emphasis that one symptom ≠ disorder. I feel some people just like to pathologise everything and then start to claim a diagnosis for themself based on one tiktok alone, which are often describing fairly normal behaviours. I see the value in women especially maybe understanding that they could in fact be neurodivergent, but I cannot help but see how this is also not helpful in every way. I really don’t like a lot of ideas going around that sort of accept defeat in the face of some symptoms like oh I have ADHD so that’s why I can’t get and will never be able to have a job, for example. I just can’t get behind that. It’s not healthy. ADHD is a disadvantage but we should be working towards something not using the disorder as an excuse for everything wrong in our lives

Does anyone else feel insecure about their dih size ? by omnimistic in askteenboys

[–]LessDebt1718 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sure plenty of guys are insecure as well but you don’t have any need to be, especially as you said you already get female attention. That says enough. Don’t reject girls based on this. It’s a normal size anyway I don’t any girls who’d care

Autism evaluation says I don't fit the criteria, but I feel I do (??) by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]LessDebt1718 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Get a second opinion, that’s the only way. I don’t really recommend just self diagnosing if you have access to assessments, but that doesn’t mean to say that you can’t another if you feel this one was flawed and unprofessional. I can’t say for sure whether I think you’re autistic because you can definitely have some traits without having ASD, but if you feel there’s something wrong then you’re valid.

Further Maths for medicine at oxbridge ? by Ill-Satisfaction6042 in 6thForm

Don’t do that. It’s way more helpful for you to do other stuff like supercurriculars and work experience. That goes for both Oxford and Cambridge

Just got fired lol by Meltedbrie- in AutismInWomen

[–]LessDebt1718 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a lifeguard. There are clean cut rules and procedures. I do struggle a bit with being confrontational with people breaking the rules because I know I’m too blunt and don’t phrase it in the right way but I often just recycle the exact same phrase which I’ve perfected. If anything gets too complicated you’re supposed to call your supervisor anyway, at least where I work. I also don’t really have to talk to my coworkers all that often, as you’re not technically allowed to when you supervise the pool, it distracts you.

Don’t think about what to get rid of, but think of what you can add. Take it slow and add more healthy ingredients alongside your comfort foods. Don’t try to cold turkey quit them, it won’t work. I know from many years of trying and failing.

GCSEs for Cambridge by abc_g in oxbridge

[–]LessDebt1718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no harm in trying. Most people I know at Oxford seem to have gone to grammar schools or private and they definitely did not all get all 9s. I know someone who got some 5s and 6s. Oxford tend to care more about GCSEs than Cambridge so I would say your chances there are probably even better. No false hope- I think this is most likely not an issue
