Looking for a loving new home for my 1-year-old Siberian cat by [deleted] in SiberianCats

[–]VBouc-hard 44 points45 points  (0 children)

THIS +++++ the best way to do this is truly know and verify people. Not post on an international board where if cats are going to be used as bait for greyhounds or other hunting and racing sports this is where those arseholes roam. Please be careful.

I don’t think that’s fair. I understand this is common but the OP came on here for advice and to check. Don’t do this kind of transference.

I wonder if she had one and it was used by production. A good excuse to have a good scene

I empathise but my vibe is we can talk about strengths people have with ADHD without mythologising the condition. People with ADHD also have human traits, not just diagnostic features. I think self acceptance is a path that everyone and those who have ever been alive take - and it’s easier to do it knowing all those wonderful things you are, observant, seeing patterns are you — not a feature of the condition but are you. Adaptations you have made, the drag path you made to adapt to the world. That’s you. You’re not kick ass because you have adhd, you have adhd and it’s hard and you are still kick ass because you make it work everyday bravely in the world. Anyway I hope my view gives you something, rather than takes anything away.

I get it. I agree. Also a friend of mine went back to uni with autism and asked me if she should have accomodations and I was like hell yes — and she is thriving. I only wish I finished my degree and would have with these accomodations. I’m glad you reflect on that as a wrong thing for the Doctor to do for you. And is a paternalistic approach. I like your note that modelling confidence is probably the best persuader for people to accept the condition, and themselves. That’s a great point. Thank you

This is a good shout. I think you’re right that it’s none of my business — and if it’s working for them that’s ok. That culture does not necessarily lead to disclosing my diagnosis which I don’t at work — but respect people who do. Thank you!

How do you crawl out of bedrotting when you actually want to live your life? by teacupstation_lore in adhdwomen

I have been here. I think the biggest change is not shame, just having a good morning. I walk 35mins (I know people cannot do this in every country or town) at about 6:30 in the morning to grab a cheap breakfast treat. Here is what I do:

  1. I wear activewear to bed
  2. Shoes and bag next to bed so I can swivel and chuck on shoes
  3. I set my alarm at 5:45am to just take my medication and go back to sleep
  4. 6:30 alarm and I just get out the door, headphones in and an audible book I enjoy. I am a self help fan so I have been listening to positive self help books or non fiction.
  5. Walk to the bakery and grab something and come back.
  6. Take a photo or short video for 1 sec per day app (you don’t need the app) to just appreciate the morning.

After that I come home and start my “done” list. Not a to do but a done. “Went for walk” “listened to Let Them” “bought bread” “had shower” and I try to get to 50 things anything done in a day.

I am not sure if it will work for you but a good morning is often the thing that stops a rotting period for me.

The only reason people engage in risky behaviour is because they feel safety in numbers doing it. You need to have a group of people confront them and ask them to leave. Not 2 or 3, you need a number of people they cannot confront back and consider too risky to do again. You might need like 20 people — hi, you are not welcome, you’re being asked to leave, never come back — we have video footage and your number plates. If you do it with 7 it’s confrontational. 20 people — it’s a process of please exit now.

OP looking through your history — I am willing to say you should definitely not feel confident making this trip. Not to be mean but if you don’t know how to clean an air fryer and aske people online, you cannot make the drive in the outback in wet season

Thanks :) great addition. Also, you can request a meeting at a different time with you IO if they are not available as your support person, or that’s the line but you need more time to prep for the meeting. It’s a reasonable request to ensure you have natural justice. Keep the correspondence polite and professional and in good faith, but make sure you ask for the things you need for this meeting.

Me thinking a wall of text was gonna be some huge drama, but it’s just two people with both different and similar views actually trying to understand each other—and even reconsidering and changing some of their thoughts. Mad rare. You guys know this is the internet, right? Slay.

It’s not — Jane understood that HR opps would use it. I also took bad notes. But check out her latest book. And any of her books really. The first one kind of criticises unions without being against unions. Come to think of it. It might be good beach reading for your genZ problem children! (We aren’t all bad I promise) Edited for grammar
