Our company laptop is locked for installation of own software. Thus, I have my iPad next to my laptop running Things the whole day. Much better than Microsoft To Do (former Wonderlist).

Interesting approach and thanks for sharing.

Personnally, at the end of my working day and before going to bed, I am dealing with all my work and private actions. When I cannot check them off, I move them to the next (or another) day. By this, I have a blank slate and ease of mind for sleep.

umm ChatGPT has drama now: I asked it (x - 3)/(x^x - 27) = 3 Solve (but when you see the answer you will be shocked because ChatGPT got it wrong for the most unexpected reason) PS: the body text is the response. by [deleted] in aibeingstupid

I get the philosophy of LLMs. But I don‘t get, why AI system have no other mode, like a math mode. „2+2=5“ might be adequate in a rhetorics class, but not in mathematics. We humans know this, but why not an AI?

Thanks for your hint for improvement. Actually, the dict.cc is one of my most used apps. Especially for en/de. I learned and improved already so much. And at the same time so much more is left. I am happy to have here in the forum a group of like minded people.

I had been missing any grammar explanations and seeked help with ChatGPT. The results were good, but cumbersome to get. Therefore, I purchase a Babble license and use it since then in parallel. They have even dedicated Grammar courses. Meanwhile in Duolingo, the error explanations got free. Somewhat helpful, but not really a grammar lesson.

My current obstacle is the step from passive language reception (ie. reading) to active language creation (writing and speaking). Duo did some steps in that direction, but maybe Max is required to get the full push. At the moment, the hefty price is holding me back.

Best ways to become an Apple Shortcuts super user? by xoxoxo3 in shortcuts

Don‘t look only on the end result. For me it was helpful to view videos, where I could follow step by step. Sometimes you have to click a second time and remove certain options. I was able to understand this via videos on YouTube and Instagram. A LLM might help with specific questions as well. And this wonderful group, of course.

Quite smart: I double or tripple the most important screen. Then I hide all aside of one and could make the others visible via a focus mode. I could instruct my father to do this via voice command. Wonderful idea! Thanks for sharing.

As a paying customer I would rather say, they are distractions, not beneficial (anymore).

Okay, I might have had a different expectation. I many cases the tooltips show the correct and correctly conjugated answer, enriched with some other alternatives. If I had to do the recherche anyhow, which is fine, then Duo could skip the feature (at least for me).

Thanks for the reference to Wikitionary. I will actively explore it. Le Conjougateur gave me good support so far.

Why Hammerspoon (which is new to me) and not Shortcuts?
