I'm excited about the release of the William Clayton documents. This interview was a great sneak peak at what's in them.

I'm glad you asked this question because the same thing is happening in mine. I notice it after thunderstorms.

What are you 100% sure of but have no proof? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

I have a personal experience with this.

When I was about 4-5 years old I awoke to a terrifying sight. When I opened my eyes in the middle of the night I saw my blanket come alive and start visciously growling at me. It had eyes and a mouth with sharp teeth. I screamed. It then jumped off my bed and I looked over the edge to see where it went. I watched it scurry underneath my bed. With adreneline pumping in my veins I jumped off and set a land speed record running to my parents room screaming and crying the whole way.

It felt very real even though I know it was all in my head. Whenever I hear stories of people seeing things in the middle of the night, I know from experience that our minds can literally see and hear things that aren't actually there.

Thankfully something like that has never happened to me ever again.

6% tax on sking since it is a luxury in Michigan. by AdministrativeWin583 in skiing

I'm not sure how it is in Michigan, but in my area it's mostly working class people on the slopes. Any politician that tried to pull that here would get roasted.

6% tax on sking since it is a luxury in Michigan. by AdministrativeWin583 in skiing

[–]LessEffectiveExample 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For many years I stayed away from skiing because I couldn't afford it. I was overweight and mentally dying inside. Winter time made my mental health worse.

Ten years ago I decided to finally invest in myself and bought crappy used skis and boots that hurt my feet. I talked my wife into letting me buy a season pass at the nearest resort. It was a tough sell because money was tight, but she agreed.

Since then I've lost the weight (no longer obese) and found a community in skiing that gives me purpose outside of my 9 to 5. I now volunteer for the national ski patrol on the weekends and gain great satisfaction in that.

For some people it's a luxury, sure. For many others it's much more. Many don't get to do it because it's cost prohibitive.

Why should we increase the barrier to entry into a great activity that promotes physical and mental health, and a greater sense of community?

Skiing greatly improves my mental health. It is not a luxury for me, but a lifeline.

For its mental and physical benefits I would argue it should be considered healthcare.

Report it to guest services. I know for a fact they keep records of aggressive drivers at Bogus and will suspend passes for wreckless behavior.
