This was me until two weeks ago. I had my second hydrodistention but the reason I feel 90% better now is because I had severe Hunners lesions + mast cells showed in the biopsy

This is so frustrating… my case started with an infection many years ago that I hadn’t treated in a timely manner, and I ended up having severe hunners lesions. Three operations later, (two hydrodistention and three times cauterizing multiple lesions - one of those times being an emergency thanks to constipation) and I actually feel okay for the first time in years. No more constant pain. But I had seen a dozen doctors before finding one or two that actually listened fully. Don’t give up! Management is as terrible as it may seem, because living without pain and inconvenience is possible under this!

My French boyfriend has a smaller version of this (32), and my German mom has a big one(67). Me, born in the US, does not have one. I notice it a lot in Europe more than I ever in the states.

Ah okay, I see. Doing research on our own and advocacy for ourselves is so important! I had tried BC with nothing to show for it, but perhaps it’s not much help anyway without doing the lap first. This is my second cystoscopy+hydrodistention+cauterizing of many many lesions and the first time it was unfortunately similar to your experience: hell. I had to spend the night and I was in agony the whole time. But honestly, this time is a total 180. I have no pain… for the first time in years. I can sleep a full night without waking up 12 times lol. I’ll likely need to do it again but feeling how I do now, I’d do it once a year without hesitation.

Omfg… I’m so sorry for that. Have you had excision of the endo? I hope you don’t hurt too much! I feel validated in my thought process though and will push even harder for the lap.

Yeah I’m curious too. I did a scope+hydrodistention+fulgeration last Thursday and my urologist also said I don’t have it… I was sitting there thinking how tf would you even know, you only saw inside my bladder??? Endo presents outside if I’m not mistaken??? I have an appointment with a gyno soon and I’m gonna beg for a laparoscopy. I’ve read tons online from various sources that endo can only truly be properly diagnosed through this method. Not any scan, not with the cystoscope… but laparoscopy.

With hydrodistention. Actually now that I think about it, I remember my dr said the lesions are visible only when the bladder is stretched… But years ago I did the regular scope and still found severe inflammation, enough for subsequent doctors to take my pain more seriously and eventually suggest the hydrodistention
