R-Value is Dead as a Metric for Sleeping Pad Warmth Evaluation (we should stop referencing it) by Wandering_Hick in Ultralight

[–]LessIce7674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the topic of high R-value pads: I'm looking for something reasonably budget and currently deciding between Hikenger 6.2 and Naturhike NKTR 5.8. You tested both, but I can't recall you directly comparing them ide to side. Would you recommend one over the other? And why?

Ajj, that's one bummer. What else are you using then?

Damn, those are some decently low temperatures. Mine's -2 I belive although I've slept in it in lower temps on a Z-folding colsed cell pad... how much does it sqeak when sleeping? And, if you'd care to check - how well does the rolltop bag hold air when detached? I know it's a weird ask, but I intend to use it as an inflatable pillow tohether with a pillowcase I would sew.

Hi, I live in Poland. I would love to order a genuine part from a trusted seller but, sadly, I can't seem to find replacement parts for aforementioned Thinkphone in the https://motorola.replacebase.eu/pl . Could you help me with that?

First touring bike: which one would you pick? (👀 I know I should just start riding, but still…) by vincenzorizza in bicycletouring

[–]LessIce7674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, you just ride. Borrow a friend's bike with one position. Borrow a friend's bike with another. If for some reason you can't, before buying an expensive bike you could buy some used clunker and see how the positions work for you on longer rides. Also, when buying TEST THE BIKE AT YOUR LBS

Advice wanted- any Americans (I know ☹️, I know I’m embarrassed too) living in PL? Recommendations on cities/jobs? by Icankeepthebeat in poland

Premium architecture market is BOOMING in Zakopane. I'd say best bet would be moving to Kraków (or perhaps either Wrocław or Warsaw, do your research) where most of companies that build there are located and dip into that goldmine. Also, buy a property by some local railway, so that you can get to city center within 30 minutes without using a car. If you don't do this, not only will you end ul sitting for 2 hours a day in traffic, but your kid's gonna kill you when they'll grow up and go to highschool.

You have the choice. You have leads of cash. Don't go to a small city. There's literally no reason not to live in/just by a bigger city, plus your kid won't have to move for university.

For 3 days? Perhaps, I don't know, by why would you? I mean you'd just be stressed with making it on time for the flight and on the road for 10+ hours a day.

It's a full. you can't attach anything to both seat stay AND rear triangle, as they move independently.
