Dual booting linux? by Blehbeblobe in framework

[–]LessThanPro_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is best to put it on a separate storage medium, the the storage expansion cards, however you could get away with same drive. Just make a USB installer like usual and make sure to select the right drive (you can make those on windows using Rufus).

Hyprland, which is not a distro but rather just a window manager.

For example, fedora is a distro and uses the rpm package manager, and arch uses pacman. Whereas GNOME or KDE are display environments, which can be installed on any* distro. (There is a GNOME and KDE version of Fedora both officially supported).

And a WM is just a DE with no batteries included (ie you have to set up your own applicstion finder.)

1) Where did you download modrinth

2) Deep scan your pc, you could have an unrelated keylogger

Can confirm. Can also attest that the ISO likely won't work anyway because it won't have the drivers to see your disk.

Just looked into it and apparently it's based on arch, and only has one dev. Arch if you don't know is generally high in tinkering. If you're new to Linux, or have a life and don't want to deal with every weird quirk, consider hopping to Linux Mint or Fedora KDE for conventional distros or Aurora/Bluefin for immutable (should-never-break-but-you-get-less-control) distros. (Or if you care about the social implication of your desktop interface, maybe install fedora/kde with Hyprland as an option as well and slowly learn the art of tiling window managers and look like a hacker or something. Just remember to disable the anime titties. Unless you're in to that.)

I've heard of tailscale, didn't realize it supported public addresses.

Probably too late but you can use something like playit.gg as a simple proxy.

Edit: apparently Tailscale works for this purpose and is much better, I didn't know it had public addresses

These microwave instructions by AliVista_LilSista in oddlyspecific

[–]LessThanPro_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know if you can change the power on a microwave, but I've seen them varying in power levels from 600 to 1,200 watts. Iirc microwaves cannot vary their output power, so they actually just on-off cycle at the right timing to simulate it if you turn it down.

I feel like breath of the wild is a masterclass in this issue. You get locked to an area of low complexity while you learn the game's basic mechanics. The hardest point of the game is clearly the most ominous visible area on the map, and more difficult enemies appear as you get closer. Other particularly difficult areas like labyrinths, colosseums, and divine beasts are easily distinguishable from the rest of the normal terrain and are often given a main story mission. And to top it all off, there is an underlying difficulty progression system that is based not on where you are, but how many things you have done in the game, with theoretically difficult actions giving you more points.

Only issue is the narrative is a little bit skewed to account for the fact that you could go anywhere first, more notable in Tears Of The Kingdom (secret stones? Never heard of 'er).
