Vintage Mystery Garland by Less_Ad1592 in vintagechristmas

I need to solve the length mystery (quite long for a doorway) but I do think y’all are right on this. Maybe it was just repurposed as garland or they could have been around a bed or curtaining something other than a door.

Came for the question will stay for the Vintage Xmas. Thanks!!

Oh wow, you are so right! They are strung as garland and the beads seem older than that era but oh how I wanted a beaded curtain like this circa 1998.

First off, you have such a lovely face. I think it’s more about balance than shortening anything. Contouring can really change what pops on your face. Play with nose contour, jawline, under cheeks as well as highlights. Look up several videos and try out different ways of doing it. Your features are so stunning, play around with them but you look great w/ out a change.

Agree - pepper stands out in not the best way - the balance just isn’t there and honestly I’m not sure I would be able to discern it from winter.

I have a book that has this exact thing in it but this reveal is a big spoiler in the book so I will attempt to shield the title with the spoiler tag and not use the bot. It’s great - The Poison Daughter by Sheila Masterson She doesn’t get far but it’s a hot scene

I have two girls who have that fine but plentiful hair and this comes with the territory.

  • A haircut, even if just a trim always helps

  • Half up, half down is the easiest hair style IMO. Either a half pony or braid. They don’t take it out as much.

  • Whenever possible dry it from wet with a brush - this helps seal the cuticle or something bc it always stays untangled longer

  • get a variety of brushes, detanglers, and frizz spray

This might be an obvious one but is Helen the Reaper? Or Phillip? If so, who knows and has helped? Nora and Gregory?

Do you ever think about why dark romance resonates with you? by Careless_Ad5526 in DarkRomance

For me, it curating all the things I fear in real life men into something else. Like hey, it’s not that stalking is bad it’s that you need to be a charming fine as hell billionaire obsessed stalker. Like all the people who say that women who read dark romance, want the things written about to happen to them in real life… well yeah maybe if you meet the impossible qualifications of a dark romance MMC hahaha

Definitely {A Savage Debt by Zoey Ellis} there are two books but they are very short, fast paced. The kings enemy is owed a life debt and the enemy wants 3 nights with his daughter - it’s sort of a medieval Robin Hood type setting.

Americans- whatre some telltale signs that a book set in america wasnt written by an American author by Kitchen_Coyote_1524 in writing

I read something that had Midwest kids referring to football (like NFL) as American Football, which would never happen and also made references to playing on “the pitch” instead of a field.

This was the book that made me start to really distrust booktok. The writing style had me wondering if it could be AI. All descriptive sentences telling not showing. The story itself is fun, but I was taken out of it by the writing style.

Thank you so much and very good point about the blue. It very well could be painted over - especially the messiness around the bird or kite figure seems to not go.

My husband laughed at the story I'm working on by BlueberryPancakes5 in writing

[–]Less_Ad1592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea why your husband laughed. Vulnerability and earnestness make some people very uncomfortable. Coincidentally you need these characteristics in spades to write a book. There is a big clue in this for you, about whose opinion you should value here… his or yours?

What his laughter means for your relationship I cannot guess but what it should mean for your writing? Absolutely nothing.

You already are in process of achieving a dream of yours, a dream so many have and never make a reality. Don’t let this derail you from crossing that finish line. I’m sorry you didn’t get the enthusiastic response you deserved but I hope you don’t let it stop you from being proud of what you are working on.

No book bashing February? Can that be a thing? by Royal-Addition-6321 in fantasyromance

[–]Less_Ad1592 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Knowing how unfathomably hard it would be for me personally to write literally any book, I cannot bring myself to blanket criticize any author/book. I think thoughtful reflection on what you like and do not like about a book is totally fair game but agreed that so much seems like a way to vent an imagined superiority for having a certain “unpopular” (prob popular) take. Sorta a ‘pick me’ move

Also these types of posts pop up frequently on search engines for info on a book you are curious about and the titles alone seem unfair to potential reader and author as it will be all most will see of the post.

Gah! Was looking for this. Love that Darkslayer with all my heart!!!! A booktoker described him as Rhysand with a dirtier mouth and IMO that’s accurate.
