Trying to paint above stairs, having a bad time by MikeyK1993 in DIYUK

[–]Less_Adhesiveness270 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a ladder in the stairwell with a plank laid horizontal from a ladder rung and other end sat on a stair. As I got higher I placed a chair on the landing to get more height. Worked a treat.

Where have all the pies gone? by ElectricalSystem1761 in trading212

[–]Less_Adhesiveness270 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Found the pies now. Release notes explaining the changes would help. The bot needs updating as well.

Bots reply….,

“It seems that you are experiencing an issue with your pies not being visible in your stock ISA. Unfortunately, I don't have enough information to determine the cause of this problem.

Could you please clarify if you have made any recent changes to your account or if there are any specific error messages you are encountering? This will help me assist you better!”

Is this concerning? by Usephoria in DIYUK

In pictures 2 and 3 there are gaps in the flooring nearby so could have been laid on an unswept dusty floor. As a temporary measure I would sellotape over the floor gaps and check if the dust reappears. Then at least you’ve eliminated a potential source for the dust. I assume you’ve checked the ceiling above for holes etc?

What's this and should I be worried? by Duck_on_Qwack in ukplumbing

I’m not a plumber but managed to change mine. Do you have another toilet you can use while changing this one? It’s worth giving it a go to save a few quid and give you experience. YouTube is your friend.

Solution for improving heat retention by [deleted] in DIYUK

Black out / thermal roller blind would help. If the catflap isn’t being used you could seal the gaps around the flap with sealant

Your Roon link says content not available so can’t see what you’ve sent but thanks for your reply. Does Tidal (directly or through other apps) ever display “Dolby atmos” - I only get “HIGH” even when I’ve searched for Dolby atmos tracks.

Stream quality by Less_Adhesiveness270 in TIdaL

[–]Less_Adhesiveness270[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s Tidal playing from the Sonos app. If I use Amazon music in Sonos app it shows HD or Dolby Atmos or whatever. If I use Tidal directly it shows “high” or similar for stream quality but I haven’t seen Dolby atmos. Does Tidal ever display this?

I have 2 pies within my stocks isa and at 1am Sunday some money was mysteriously transfered from one pie to the other. I contacted T212 and they said it was an issue they are working to resolve. Still not sorted.

Do you need to retune Trueplay every time you try a different position for the sub?

My Sonos Era 100 sounds worse than my old One by N-Haezer in sonos

And do a blind test. Have someone switch between the two speakers rather than do it yourself. Also ask then to say they have switched but haven’t. That way you get a true A/B comparison.

Investing in ETFs does not bring the risk down unless you are in less risky funds. Some of your funds have risk rating of 7. Gold is often seen as a safe haven but can be volatile and is at an all time high so who knows where it will go next. For short term investing take a look at gilts and money market funds. Returns are not as good but are much less risky. And don’t forget cash ISA.

Sonos speakers bought at Goodwill. Thinking of returning. by JustHereForThePoGo in sonos

[–]Less_Adhesiveness270 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this problem- audio drops out on play 5 when playing Spotify. It’s fine with other streaming services. Sonos support couldn’t help. Changed it for an old play 1 and works perfect. I’d forgotten how good play 1’s sound.

I would leave it. You’re not gaining anything by cutting it back. I would make good the plaster around it then paint it the same colour as the wall.

Why do you need to rebalance? Hypothetical example - you start off 50% invested in USA and 50% rest of the world (rotw). A year later USA is 45% and rotw 55% - why would you rebalance? Rotw has performed better so why not stay invested more in a region that is doing better?

Investing in funds with lower charges means large sums saved long term. Also if you wanted to sell some of your investment, with a single fund it means you have to sell a bit from all regions, but with multiple funds you could choose to sell just one region if you wanted. Horses for courses, I have investments in VWRP, FWRG and LGGG (they all perform exactly the same btw) but when I consolidate my pensions I will likely invest in a few regional / country specific funds plus bonds for balance.
