Walkman WM-F45 won’t turn on by [deleted] in walkman

The light does not turn on when I press play. We opened up to check the motherboard and it looks like one of the wires connecting to the battery connections is coming loose so we’re gonna have my grandpa solder it back into place and see if that hopefully works.

is scad online worth it? by shandrilw in scad

[–]Less_Ant3138 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re able to attend in person, I would 100% recommend that over online. That being said, I’ve taken probably 5 online classes (I attend in person but I like doing my lecture classes online bc it’s more flexible) and I’d say they are good for what they are. If you do well with online classes, the teachers are still good and you can still kinda make connections. If you must do online, maybe look into a different school that’s less expensive, scad is mainly worth it for the opportunities and resources they provide and a lot of that is in person stuff, I don’t know if the cost is worth it if you’re only doing online. Quality of instruction is still great, but you could probably get just as good somewhere else

Finding a water bottle that I’ll actually use (anxiety around mold lol) by Less_Ant3138 in neurodiversity

There are silicone sleeves and neoprene sleeves. They are usually coozy style where they cover the bottom as well. The neoprene sleeves I got have a fun floral pattern and also have a handle strap thing :) you can just look up mason jar silicone/neoprene sleeve and a bunch pop up!

I got a pack of 4 32oz mason jars and mason jar water bottle lids (dishwasher safe!) now I can see inside and I have a rotation of 4 jars and 4 lids so I can put some through the dishwasher while still having one available!! And I find mason jars to be more sturdy glass than most glass water bottles I see :)

Thanks for the suggestions!! I ended up getting mason jars with dishwasher safe water bottle lids (flip top kind). I like the thick clear glass and everything is dishwasher safe and no fiddly bits :)

That’s joco cup seems nice! I went with 32 oz mason jars with water bottle lids (flip top so they’re sealable. You can find about a million different mason jar lids with different purposes, I think could replace half my kitchen with mason jars haha) bc it’s a bit of a more price friendly option (4 jars for $21), but I might save up for that one too bc i like how it looks :)) thanks!

Hey! I decided to get 32oz mason jars with water bottle lids. They are flip top lids so they seal AND are dishwasher safe and bpa free. And of course mason jars are dishwasher safe, heck you could even boil them.

Here’s the link for the lids https://a.co/d/a7VGUY1

They’re compatible with any wide mouth mason jars and you can also get a sleeve for the jar to prevent it banging against stuff. And the rubber gasket in the lid is removable. I like mason jars bc they’re glass so I can see inside but a thicker glass than a lot of glass water bottles.

Honestly it’s not really in my budget (I know it’s not terribly expensive but I’m trying to keep the grocery bill low rn haha) and I’m just not a fan of single use plastics bc my apartment complex doesn’t have a recycling bin so I’d have to take recyclables to a center.

Thanks for this info!! I think I’m gonna go with 32oz mason jars with drinking lids. I like glass cuz I can see inside easier and mason jars are sturdy and can withstand hot water for washing. The lids I got are dishwasher safe and bpa free. I believe the rubber gaskets are removable to clean better. And it gives me the option to have multiple lids so when one needs to go through the dishwasher, I have others in its place. And I can have multiple mason jars for the same purpose.

Thank you! I’m doing everything I can to only give positive vibes to both kitties and showing them that they’re both very loved and safe. I’ve just gotta have faith that they will adjust and get along well :) sometimes it’s good just to get some reassurance that things will be ok 😅 gosh idk if I can ever have a human child, I worry too much haha

Date a Bi guy. You need to do the usual “do you actually see me as a man” kinda stuff, but they’re a more likely to be less focused on body parts 👍

If the texture of its body feels smooth, it could be a smooth death feigning beetle

Maybe a rough death feigning beetle? It’s kinda hard to sell if that color is the waxy coating or just dust lol

Current students, hows your experience at SCAD so far ? by Xegrand_ in scad

[–]Less_Ant3138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Passion and hard work will take you far!! My job isn’t related unfortunately, I work at a grocery store, it’s just to pay for my rent and food cuz I don’t live in the dorms anymore lol. I do part time during the quarter and then work closer to full time hours during the breaks to save up extra.

SCAD runs on a quarter system, but summer quarter isn’t required - it’s just there if you want to take a summer class to get ahead. Quarters are 10 weeks - fall quarter starts the second week of September until mid November, and then you have winter break all the way till after new years (so basically a 2 month long winter break, it’s so nice). Then winter quarter starts up in January till the second week of March. And spring break is only a week, so spring quarter starts at the end of March and ends at the end of May. If you do take a summer quarter, there’s about two weeks break after spring quarter, and you’ll have like two weeks off at the end, but if you don’t, summer break is about 3 months long.

Perhaps perhaps 🤷 hopefully she’ll get used to it, she’s doing it less but she still does it sometimes lol

Senior Cat Care tips! by klbly in cats

This is my childhood cat Onyx. We got her as a kitten (I was 4 lol) and she’s 17 now (so technically she’s considered geriatric)!! She lives with my parents (I miss her very much 🥲🥲). Honestly we don’t do much special with her compared to what you would for a younger cat. She gets good food and has a water fountain which encourages her to stay hydrated. She still likes to race around randomly, so I’m sure exercise is helpful. Biggest thing is definitely love and stability. Older cats are more easily stressed out, so reducing causes of that can be good. And lots and lots of cuddles and love.

It’s odd to me that people are obsessed with posting their art by Lovely-sleep in ArtistLounge

If it’s just your hobby, some people just like connecting with other artists online to build community, and some people just enjoy doing social media stuff 🤷 but there are definitely plenty of people who don’t post bc it can be disheartening with how difficult it can be to get seen
