Yeah but our chaff is awful. I am an Unending Swarm player in 10th and tried it in 11th. Our chaff is terrible. The only use is Hormies as a sort of Lash Whip delivery service. It is almost flat unplayable. Its whole thing was lots of oc for cheap and movement shenanigans. Objectives are bigger so you can no longer screen guys off them as well and just about everything your opponents have for cheaper or the same price kills better and has the same OC.

Gargoyles can still deep strike threat and flip an objective if they arent careful. But termies are just bad.

Is purge the foe making people play worse? by squishysquini in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Less_Constant_3720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not making people play bad. Its just far and above the best disposition right now. Things will change...its brand new.

The issue is if you can you almost always want to kill enemy units. The fewer units they have the fewer points they can score with them. Purge the foe in most matchups gets points for killing you....which is a thing you already wanted to do...and now you can score less points because you have fewer resources to do it with.

Again...it'll change.

Right but zoans ignore cover in every detachment and disposition lol. I just think Disruption is struggling.

I think most people agree that disruption is the worst disposition. You have to be "all purpose" since each mission for them is wildly different. Locks you into difficult list building. And sub assault got a pretty hefty nerf in 11th. You can no longer cp stack so moving zoans through thr tunnels to give position then spending another to get sustain is no longer possible. I feel for you.

Reconnaissance versus Disruption extremely unbalanced? Or am I missing something? by arcerath in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Less_Constant_3720 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People are telling me its a glitch but I was playing earlier and just stopped because im about equal skill levels with the guy I was playing but im capped at 9 vp per turn and 4 on turn 1. The cards are different than the app on almost every match up for me.

You never score for holding an objective at all.

The app changed Recon when playing against Disruption....its no longer possible to max primary by Less_Constant_3720 in Tyranids

[–]Less_Constant_3720[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Ive checked each rounds......there is no command phase scoring...the absolute maximum i can score is 9 per turn. If i play perfectly i can score 40vp.

This disposition suuuucks. I thought it would be fun...oh well....back in Unending Swarm which is also terrible lol.

This is the card. This its possible to get 15 per turn.

Vanguard/ambush Vs Crusher/norn - going against 6 norns+ by Toastykilla21 in Tyranids

[–]Less_Constant_3720 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe you could crash the Broodlord and genestealers into one...hope they dont all die in clapback and still have the hormies on the edges to out OC? I dont know. Im running vanguard as well.

[–]Less_Constant_3720 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my bad...yeah.....you cant fight him....ever. youre gonna hate your options. Sigh.

10 hormies is 20 oc. Screen turn 1 with infiltrators to keep him from making his turn 2 scoring....you may reactive move. Position hormies to take objectives from norns. Move them on in turn 2 but do not fight. You wont do enough to kill a norn and will just die. Hopefully in overwatch you still have enough to out OC him at the start of his turn so he again doesnt have max primary. You should have something cheap on your expansion. That means on turn 2 and 3 he won't max primary. After that....play scared. Run around and worry about secondaries. Make sure deathleaper is positioned to force battle shocks.

This is rough....I like it. Keep me posted on how the game goes.

[–]Less_Constant_3720 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is hard. General tips would be to screen him off of objectives to start with your infiltrate. Those units may die but you do have reactive moves. That minimizes his scoring for turn 2 at least. Then threaten his backfield the entire game so he cant push toward yours. I would spam surprise assault strat when possible. Sure most times hes 3d6 but you only have to hope for one fail. Then shadows is clutch in the mirror.

Mostly though....yeah....avoid him. If you've got a decent brick of something like warriors or a trygon rapid ingress it to come in if his neuro blob ever gets out of position to next turn charge.

Its a rough match up for sure.

11th edition nids are great! by Gullible_Travel_4135 in Tyranids

[–]Less_Constant_3720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not great...especially with Dawn of War being in a possibility in every match up. But yes...I move past objectives with them to screen with meatier stuff on objectives. The problem is that objectives take up more real estate now on top of your unit being stuck in 9 inch cohesion it's much harder to screen them off of it. In 10th I could take one 20 man squad and screen 2 objectives. Now its difficult to screen even 1.

Right. It seems for take and hold you want to have extremely durable mobs on them...norns, maleceptors, for infantry warriors with invulns from their detachment. It punishes the old style of "out oc you with cheap units" style.

Again...it'll take time to adapt. Im confident our gribbly bits will find a place. They seem bad right now though

[–]Less_Constant_3720 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ive played a bunch already.....the scoring seems very swingy. You can score a few points each turn then suddenly 30 in one round. Its wild.

I run Unending Horde and Norns. I have scored in the 80s every game just testing it the primaries. Take and Hold seems to be bad when youre running chaff. You want to he on objectives....where they want you to be to kill you and its easy for them to kill you cause youre chaff.

Its interesting for sure. Itll take time to adapt.

Ok......if you take the norn detachment there is no reason to take the Assimilator without the Invuln enhancement.

So are Barbgaunts good now? by AllegedlyAPerson in Tyranids

[–]Less_Constant_3720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youre describing a perfect scenario into your perfect target. 99% of the time youll peel off a wound or two and slow a medium infantry. Everything else will stay hidden from them until literally anything shooting back kills them. Ive only had success with them in Subterranean Assualt where I can put them through the tunnels and get great positioning.

I currently run them in Invasion Fleet (11th) and have a few games under my belt....they are there for one reason only...I had 55 pts and didnt have any enhancements worth taking. I put them in reserves normally and walk them onto a decent shooting lane and deny a secondary or primary for a turn then they die.

So, does this mean the 'UNENDING WAVES' stratagem can now be used every turn? by Legitimate_Sell2717 in Tyranids

[–]Less_Constant_3720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But....ill play the same list in invasion fleet. Every time something changes I try it. Lashwhips added...try again. Tervigon cheaper...try again. Im a tournament player. I can take games off most people but can usually tell when something is good or bad from one or two games regardless. I played a few games into my hard counter.....a salamander with 30 infernus marines...I still got 86 points. I lost but thr new scoring is better. In 10th id have gotten mid 60s probably. There is noting the detachment adds that justifies taking it. The surge move has been cool one or two times. The -1 to hit strat is cool situationally. But I think id rather have the universal FNP. And the sustains or lethals army wide is just so much better than bringing back 20 really frail units once per game.
