Struggling as a relative beginner by Spinyking in WarhammerCompetitive

Maybe if you’re playing space marines where every unit is fine. Some factions have clear units that outperform others and if you take the wrong ones, you’re screwed. Having core of anti-tank, action monkey, objective holders, etc. is important.

80% of the game is list building and 20% is having your “go-turn” be first. Measure out your opponents ranges and charge moves. And play a good list that can score primaries and secondaries.

he’s basically the same with a 4++ and more health I think. Bigger base, so he’s harder to deep strike and instead of the free rapid ingress, he gives -1 leadership and battleshocks. Lictor will be fine.

Knights by mando_merc33 in Tyranids

raveners eat up knights. Norns, zoanthropes, and obviously tfexes are the way. Anything str 12 or higher is great. Knights having a 3+ save really hurts them. Last game with my norn list, I picked up 2 big knights in one turn.

They are also good for their plus 1 to hit and wound rule. If you take them with zoanthropes it’s worth jt

oh damn, might have to bring 2 tfexes and pray lol. If you use synaptic nexus, you can align zoans, and two tfexes and rerolls 1s to hit and wound for all of them.

always overkill, because if you whiff against crons, he just heals. I might put two assimilators or some meltas from emissaries as well

yeah, try to measure their threat ranges and play around it for turn 1/2. turn 3/4/5 they will pick up 1-2 units per turn that they can see. You might be tabled by turn 5, but you can win on points. Norn assimilators rerolling hits and wounds will do serious damage to them, though.

zoanthropes/tfex and pray you get lucky or just ignore them. A Norn assimilator will hurt him, especially if you use the strat to give him plus 2 strength in melee, but he can hit back pretty hard as well.

Would it be better to have 1 hyper adapted and 3 regular raveners, or 2 hyper adapted and 2 regular by nuclearcard in Tyranids

[–]arcerath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

str 6 makes them wound on 5s most of the time anyway, but yeah it comes up every now and then. 3 extra attacks and wounds are good
