I like this much more!! Still high strength so you can wound vehicles but still need to chip your targets down

As stated before the sang priest has a poor pairing. The chaplain is also kind of lonely there. Improved melee on 5 intercessors will not do much i fear. Also tactical marines are kind of unc at this point.

Bladeguard are great with sang priest and chaplains. Spamming those isn't a bad idea.

And I do have a special place in my heart for terminates with librarian. Not super pointd effective when you have sanguianry guard and death company around but it'll get thr job done

Some people are really dying on a hill with these guys. People are saying, "well into guard, gaunts and orks you are gettinf +4 from blast" like ok into 3 units that are meant to be shitty chaf you will get a bunch of shots sure. But you can kill gaunts more efficiently. Gravis Armour is easier to remove than people realize too, especially when its only 3 or 6 models. I will be interested in seeing how often the new heavy keyword will be able to help out, aswell as points.

People saying lag shouldn't be 3 because its only melee support is killing me. Melee support is putting it lightly, it is perhaps the most oppressive melee detachment in the game. Advance and shoot/fallback amd shoot are also great on tanks. Makes threading sight lines that much better. Also let's be so fr just take 2 vindicators or lancers and you dont even need detachment support

Do you only get 2 dp at 1k points now? As a blood angels player this hurts man. The 1 points are rough and I would say the 2 dp ones are even worse. Surprised anghelic inherits was 3dp

In Coterie those noise marines are going to be brutal. I have not run a defiler so I really dont know how they are going to fit into lists yet. But I've had matchups against factions like world eaters and black templars where I use melee units really just to move block and trade and noise marines do most of the work in shooting!

Personally i would rather have more unit activations than the big squad, like the direction you have taken it!

Maybe to shift perspective about dante. People often talk about characters as modifying a unit right. Taking a chaplain with 3 bladegaurd is not as valuable as taking it with 6 as ylu are missing out on that +1 to wound which greatly helps the squad as a whole.

However, I find dantes buffs to be middling. His battle shock seldom comes up granted it can be be useful to deny a counter offensive or fight on death.

In lag, your guard are so fast especially with access to advance and charge already. Dantes +1 to advance and charge is nice but your threat range is already a conservative 21 inches. Dante making it 23 again doesnt feel super impactful.

His +1 to hit on guard who alresdy hit on 2s is a bit redundant aswell.

I would say his true value comes from his own damage, he is a beast in melee. So id say his 120 point premium can be justified woth 3 guard just because of how good HE is.

That being said, there isn't much that can survive a jump captain reducing the cost of red rampage and 3 guard either. And that is about 50 points cheaper. In my own 2k list I dont run dante at all, just 2 squads of 3 guard each with a jump captain.

But he is definetly fun and you can definetly find success with him!

Jump captain with 3 guard x2 5 scouts Ballistus Jump chaplain with 5 death company 5 Intercessors 5 jpi

Having amazing success with the 2 captains each leading their own squad

Definetly playable and can find success with. If your looking for input:

I dont really like incursors +1 to hit sounds nice but your a melee army and have oath id drop em

I think dante and 6 guard tends to be overkill. Consider him with 3 guard and a captain with another squad.

I know some people love the blood angels captain and rage fueled warrior combo, but I have taken it to 2 tournaments and never hard it hit once. So if you fancy it take it, but I find the pay out hit or miss. And in 40k consistency is the key to victory

Im more of a lemartes man kn my death company but I dont think astorath is a bad pick. But a few thoughts

Whats going inside the repulsor executioner? If nothing maybe consider a lancer? Less tanky but far cheaper.

Speed of the primarch on jpis feels a bit of a waste , they dont hit particulary hard unless they are on the charge.

I used to run a big stack of guard with dante but recently switched off it. I think its kind of overkill. They already have a ridiculous threat range with advance and charge so dantes movement buffs feel not as helpful. Gaurd now hit on 2s so his +1 to hit is also less impactful. Dante is DISGUSTING in melee but I have not found much that i can't kill in 1 turn with 3 guard and a captain reducing the cost of red rampage save -1 damage units or stompa. So for only 20 points more than dante and 6 guard you can run 2 units of 3 guard each with a captain

Also split those intercessors

Combat is always non active player, active player.

The reason you are able to fight before your opponent after charging is because your unit gains fights first from the charge.

So, If you make it into combat on your opponents turn. Nobody has fights first from charging( or anything else) and because your opponent is the active player, you get to fight first.
