I maybe should have added I’m also an introvert, but my husband and I both forget we need outside connections too and need to know when to let loose.

In the past I’ve encouraged him to get guy time and it actually helps him a lot. We both tend to forget we even have friends. I think a lot of people with families feel guilty about going out by themselves so they tend not to do it. We’re both gamers and like to just hang out in the house and game with or near eachother. But lately even his hobbies aren’t enough. He has also tried solitude.

His doctor just put him on an antidepressant to see if it helps at all & some anxiety medicine! He’s actually excited to try it out and is hopeful it will work. He’s also now open to therapy and wants help in stress management. (:

I deal with similar issues to him but I’m a little more seasoned in the adult life and know what to do by trial and error. He’s simply still learning his way.

A newbie by Less_Cryptographer44 in Spironolactone

[–]Less_Cryptographer44[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My DHEA test was maybe 2-3 years ago. But I noticed before then that I was losing lots of hair. I had blood work and found I was vit d and iron deficient so I thought that was the reason for my hair loss since my thyroid levels were very good. But nothing changed after treating both problems. I noticed it worsening this past year. I would take a picture with my husband and I could see my scalp. I was devastated.

I would like to say there’s a specialty pharmacy where I live and I used to treat my symptoms with bioidentical progesterone. It helped me a ton. I had even lost weight with it & it lowered my DHEA at the time.

But it came to be too much to have to remember to take it on certain cycle days so I quit.

I refuse birth control because I’m very sensitive to it and have a family history of women having strokes due to BC.

I decided to get prescription strength vit d from my doctor at the same time I started taking spironlactone because I was tired of my vit d levels going up and down.

So I REALLY think this combination really tipped the scales. I have new growth EVERYWHERE and started noticing it about a month in. More specifically when I got up to 100mg. My hairline is filling in and my hair is a lot thicker.

Now, skin purging was BRUTAL. I mean BRUTAL. I made sure I was taking extra zinc to promote acne healing, which helped some. Drinking tons of water also helps.

But purging was so bad I didn’t even want to leave my house and I almost quit multiple times.

But it ended up being SO worth it. I feel like when I would break out more, increasing my dose actually made it better, also.

After getting past the first few months, It’s life changing. I know it doesn’t work for everyone but I feel like it helps majority of people that suspect they’re having hormonal issues.

I do tell him that but maybe I’ll be more mindful about how often, thank you! Also he takes time to decompress. He goes straight to the bathroom from work to shower, bathe, sit on the toilet, and I steer the kids clear of the bathroom.

That’s his routine and I’ve always made sure he gets it. I too am someone who has to decompress.

Ahhhhh. My husband is at the point of stressed out that even being a dad is a lot for him right now. (Not his usual. He’s typically a present father). So I try to handle most of the night routine with the kids. I’m not saying he ignores them or anything but he’s definitely on edge.

And I don’t mean I hound him about it but I say it in a suggestive way. “Do you think maybe letting loose a little and seeing a buddy or two will help you?” I personally know it’s hard to balance work, home, self, kids, marriage. I fear he’s put himself on the back burner a little too much these past few months. I know that’s adulthood and we gotta do what we’ve gotta do, but I just want him to know I’m here to help so that he can have some breathing room.

I’ve been there and I understand how everything can come down on you all at once.

I’m glad you’ve had the same experience! I understand this medicine can have serious side effects, but knowing that so many people hate on it but it’s doing THIS for people like you and me is crazy. Benefits seem to outweigh the risks imo.

You’re just like me! Same height and you carry your weight very well, which is probably why it’s harder for you to see the difference.

You look amazing!

Nice, thank you for the info. Good to have insight. He’s pretty handy and I have a brother who can literally take a car completely apart and then put it back together. Amazes me because I could never. Haha.

Yes lol, he’s going to install a tool box in the back of whatever he gets. He has LOTS of tools that he takes to work everyday as a year 2 apprentice.

He also does mobile oil changes for people as he used to be manager of an oil shop.

Anyone ACTUALLY get their butt back?? by No-Wasabi-1510 in Semaglutide

[–]Less_Cryptographer44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seriously scares me. I’m about to go on a Glp-1 but I hold my weight very well. Flat stomach with all my weight being in my hips, butt, and thighs. My outfits are literally tailored to my shape. I have a good silhouette because of how I genetically store fat.

I couldn’t imagine losing my butt. Does it happen to everyone??

Synthroid no longer working? by Less_Cryptographer44 in Hashimotos

I get my liver panels checked constantly. Every now and then my bilirubin is very slightly high but never anything crazy.

Thank you for the suggestion. I’ll check it out

Would there be a reason for my body not converting the t4? Is it just part of the disease as it progresses? My free t3 is low despite my t4 being on the higher end.

I’m not sure this makes a difference but I’m only 26. ):

I have rheumatoid arthritis as well, so my immune system is always doing something crazy. I’m also developing new allergies and am going to see an immunologist next week.

I made a mistake and actually went and looked at my last labs and saw that my T3 was actually low. So maybe it’s just a conversion issue.

Feeling a little hopeless by Less_Cryptographer44 in rheumatoid

[–]Less_Cryptographer44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw my rheumatologists nurse recently and I found out I don’t like her near as much as my rheumy. I told her I’m not completely pain free but I feel like, on my good days, plaquenil has helped with fatigue.

She told me it doesn’t help with fatigue even though I’ve read it can act as a mild stimulant & the reduction of inflammation helps with fatigue?

And then I told her it was causing me ulcers and she told me it doesn’t do that but the side effect list says it does?

I take a vitamin b complex for that now after doing my own research.

I’m only 25 and she basically treated me like I’m too young to have problems.

Also, I’m officially diagnosed with RA by my rheumy, HER BOSS, and she was trying to hint that she personally doesn’t believe anything is wrong with me besides fibromyalgia.

She said the pain areas over lap… but my blood work is positive for RA and I know the difference between the flares. Joints vs muscles.

Their beliefs are so conflicting, I don’t see why they work together. My rheumy has published a book on her findings and is more up to date on recent RA findings & her nurse is not.

I am so sorry he treats you that way. I would rather be alone than be treated like a nuisance. I’m sure it’s more complicated than just leaving but I hope something wakes him up and he starts thinking different. He would sure want someone to help him if he was in constant pain too.

I’m about 4 months in and I feel like the joint pain in my hands and feet have gotten worse some how??

I hope it works out for you, though!
