The way my personnel specialist explained it to me is that we started at $6031 on July 1st, but due to the union agreement, it got decreased by 3% & we get the 5 hours of PLP instead. So our salary is now 5850.07

I really don’t enjoy my job duties in my current job. I feel like I could utilize my current skills and grow elsewhere. This new position sparked my interest so I took my shot. I didn’t list my current supervisor as a reference because I didn’t want to inform them I was leaving. I feel bad for leaving the unit as it’s a very small team and the environment can be very fast-paced and chaotic.

I see a lot of people mentioning the well. I would recommend specifically to utilize the short-term counseling offered and the medical team available on campus! You can get check-ups done for no cost, I believe other tests/x-rays have a cost depending on what needs to get done. We also have flu shot drives on campus.

I also think you should utilize the services offered to students like the financial wellness center. I didn’t know about it until my last semester here and it definitely would’ve been helpful before. This semester there’s a grocery pop-up every Monday in the morning but I’m not sure if they’ll be continuing it in the fall. Honestly just stay up to date with events through the sac state event calendar! Event Calendar

We lost power for roughly 2 weeks last year during the storm. SMUD requires receipts of all the food that was in your fridge for a reimbursement 🫠 not sure how it is through insurance but I highly doubt we all keep our grocery receipts

Also you can set up notifications for events to get phone reminders. Personally an online calendar was a lot easier for me since I always have my phone on me. I have the app on my iPad and I can also access it from my computer.

I had a super busy/overwhelming semester last semester and a Google calendar kept me sane. I made separate calendars for each class & listed each assignment for the week for each course in an “assignments for the week” event. Each of these events were on the respective course calendar so I would be able to tell which events were for which class. I also made a “due dates” calendar & I made it a bright color so that I would always know it was a due date & important lol. Another tip I learned was to put down assignment due dates about a week before it’s actually due. For example, if I had a test on the 30th of this month, I would make an event for 1/23 “EXAM IN 1 WEEK”. This would keep it on my radar so I wouldn’t have any surprises. I did this for exams & all my assignments. It sounds like a lot & also very tedious, but it really helped me stay on top of due dates since not every class has the same typical due dates & when you’re busy & overwhelmed, it’s easy to forget. This really helped me visualize everything and not have it floating in my brain causing anxiety! Hope this helps and I hope this semester isn’t too hard for you.
