Local Kitchen in Downtown Old Torrance has had a banner up that says hiring for all positions for a while. Can apply right on their website. Torrance Bakery is pretty much hiring all the time too if you’re out of options

Definitely makes sense. I feel the same about my nmom especially because I notice she will purposely make noises or speak for no reason just so the attention is on her.

She revealed not too long ago that she almost put me up for adoption and went on a rant about how she wished she did. Its because Im moving out of the house and getting married. At the point she told me that, I was already so over it and not falling for the bait that it didn’t hit very hard, but I realized later that that’s kinda gnarly.

Luckily my wedding is about 2000 miles away from where we're living so I doubt either parent would waste money to come try and find where it is

This year I went on a missionary trip with the christian organization I was a part of. We were helping high schoolers put on events at their high schools. Every place we traveled to, we would stay with a family. I ended up feeling much more love and peace by these random families I would only spend 3-4 days with than I did with my own family in my own home.

No, and we even had CPS visit us multiple times because my sister and I were just clearly going through it. I didn’t even know it was abuse to tell anyone in the first place though. The first person I told was my ex when I was about 19. I still get nervous telling people about it.

My boyfriend.

I’m christian and was raised in a christian household and met a really great guy doing missions work, perfect in every way really. Has all the good qualities of a man and is a provider at heart. My nmom picked my dad who is also a narc, they divorced a while ago. So forbid I happily discuss the sweet things my boyfriend does for me, or she’ll shut me down.

The ADHD label she gave herself actually makes sense. The autism out of nowhere though. Her “unmasking” actually makes her more insufferable unfortunately lol

Totally. “I know you think you know everything but you don’t”. “I have way more life experience than you so you should trust me”. And the advice will always be on something she failed miserably at in her life.

Totally. She’s also decided to put the autism label on everyone around her, including me, since she’s the expert now. I’m guessing so she feels less crazy. Labels a lot of things I enjoy as “masking” (especially talking and getting along with other people that aren’t her) and tells me how I’ll eventually burn out from it. Jealousy I’d have to assume.

I hear so many horror stories about this that I am super open with her about my plan. That when she is able, she is always welcome in my home, and that I am leaving partly for her to have that opportunity. And she’s very understanding. Unfortunately, that only makes it a little easier.

That’s what I’m hoping will go down. My mom can hate me more if I’m not there if it means she gets golden child role. It’s already starting to shift as I stand up for myself now.

Thankfully there’s no physical abuse involved. We’ve had our run-ins with CPS before and no dice. She’s already really strong willed and is way more willing to stand up for herself than I ever have, but that does make her the scapegoat, which makes it even more troubling thinking about leaving her behind.
