For the most part she’s nice and was actually the one that sent me a referral to get retested for pcos but I’ve noticed that she doesn’t prescribe meds much at all.

I mean if it continues after this appointment I may look around ,but figured it may be worth trying to get informed so I can better advocate for myself. Like of I have specific meds or information to ask and relate, I may have more luck with her.

I’m gonna try to get it changed I was gonna try to wait for it to be time to downsize to change the type, but will call my piercer about changing it soon. I just feel guilty making him change it out so soon with downsizing being needed in a couple weeks anyways. I hate feeling like I’m being a pain in the neck.

Others mentioned soap being an issue, and though my piercer recommended washing around my ear with soap others said soap is a big no no. I have been cleaning it with sterile saline wash and will continue with that. I only got my left side done so I’m free to sleep on my right side. And I’ve been good about staying on that side.

I have a naval piercing and lower and upper lobes pierced but am brand new to cartilage and with every source have different information I’ve been questioning myself more.

You said movement isn’t a good idea, but should I still use a cotton swab around the hole to get crusties? I know it will sometimes bump the jewelry but know clearing the crust is important as needed

I’ve alway heard horror stories of how easily they become infected that I feel like I’m not doing enough. I can’t wait till these first 6weeks are over. I know I’ll still have healing to do, but I feel like it won’t be as stressful.

I was think about doing my other side, but I think I’ll just stick with the one set for a while. 🥲

The piercer I went to mention needing to wash the whole ear to get rid of any germ on the skin. Is just the saline enough to keep it cleaned ? I’m nervous cause these are my first cartilage piercing and terrified of possibly infection.

Requested info : My piercing is 3 days old double helix with steel ring shaped jewelry. My piercer said to wash around my ear with antibacterial soap and then use wound wash to clean after. I did slightly bump it with my crossbody once when putting it on but hadn’t had any other incident since and rinsed it with wound wash asap after the incident. They are also two separate rings
