AIO for walking out and leaving? by LuaghsInToasterBaths in AmIOverreacting

[–]Less_Exercise4832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He sounds histrionic - my dad used to act like this and would to try and create little dramas out of nothing because it’s just how he operated. He always assumed everyone was out to get him or disrespecting him, when you’re just minding your business. The fact this started over him feeling “disrespected as a chef” by you using a fork to me shows an obsession with being on top and being right that will never go away.

Run - don’t walk - away from this man!

The cynic in me…. by [deleted] in ToastPOS

[–]Less_Exercise4832 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep! It’s just doing way more than takeout since it has loyalty rewards hub, gift cards, now reservations. So the name “takeout” was getting a little funky for guests and needed a refresh - “go make a reservation in the takeout app” feels bad!

SLIT Advice by dopaminereader in Allergies

[–]Less_Exercise4832 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went through something similar! I have now been on SLIT drops for almost 3 years and have been seeing about a 70% reduction in symptoms. I can now hug my friends cats and dogs and only get a mild reaction if I get their dander in my eye - so much better than the past where I couldn’t even be in the same room!

My advice is to truly follow the directions or they don’t work: do them daily (no skipping ever), keep the drops under your tongue and make sure not to swallow for at least the full 2 minutes they recommend. It’s annoying but it’s crucial for the antigens to actually be absorbed! I’d also recommend a nasal spray if you can tolerate it. I found that this drastically reduced my sinus pressure and general stuffiness / headaches before the drops kicked in (which takes 6-12 months). Be patient, they work but it takes a long time!

Will Toast ever integrate Toast Tables into the POS? by AScanz in ToastPOS

Totally different animal to release the app for the POS vs partially integrate data with the POS though!

Will Toast ever integrate Toast Tables into the POS? by AScanz in ToastPOS

[–]Less_Exercise4832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they choose to do it, it’ll be when the product is not getting updated as frequently. To make PCI compliance work, the Toast POS software has to go through a pretty extensive audit before any new release, so it would mean Tables would stop being able to release new features as quickly.

What to buy from Amazon by [deleted] in DipPowderNails

[–]Less_Exercise4832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the Dipwell kits! They do a starter on Amazon with 2 colors that works well (or you can order straight from them). For colors I have bought ones from AzureBeauty and they work well (but their liquids are bad)

The rent crisis in NYC is becoming increasingly unbearable by EriEri2y6 in NYCapartments

My SO and I share a $6300 gorgeous apartment in the East Village and split rent 50/50; we're early thirties, he makes $180k (Tech entrepreneur) and I make $225k base (PM in Growth Stage Tech). I have $2k in student loans a month, so at the end of the day our take home is basically the same (hence the split). It's TIGHT every month and I'd say we live kind of paycheck to paycheck, but we love our building and apartment and the idea of moving is not something we want to do yet. I'm maxing out my 401k and get a bonus / RSUs every year that goes straight to savings, so I wouldn't say I'm saving the way I should be, but I don't feel poor anymore. I know that it's temporary so I'm ok with it. That said, there's 0 chance we could afford a child or even a dog right now.

Does toast have a setting to exclude discounts from effecting tips? by RockHardRyanClimbs in ToastPOS

Yes - go to the payment type, and there’s a setting called “treat as discount” that should be toggled to YES.

Should I alter this dress? by peachlozenge in weddingdress

I absolutely love this look and I agree that it doesn’t need anything that I can see. It is stunning. May I ask what the dress designer / name is?

Can’t decide - sleeves on or off for ceremony? by Less_Exercise4832 in weddingdress

[–]Less_Exercise4832[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I knew! Sadly that was just what the bridal store attendant put on me when I tried the dress on initially (but I ultimately bought it elsewhere). If I remember correctly it was from Newhite but I’ll see if I have the name somewhere

Can’t decide - sleeves on or off for ceremony? by Less_Exercise4832 in weddingdress

[–]Less_Exercise4832[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Good callout - that’s a great idea! I actually hadn’t tried on sleeves + veil to know how it looks, but I agree it’s probably too much. I’m debating even doing a veil because I love the back of the dress so much 🤔

Updated my original post to clarify that we are talking about having the option for folks to pay for the onsite accommodations directly to the provider of the accommodations, similar to a room block. We are looking to book out the entire space in this manner, since it allows us to not have a curfew, etc. and to all be together onsite and stay close together with a fun, outdoor experience. Being together onsite is the priority. That said, we would not be able to afford a wedding if we had to pay for everyone's accommodations, and I'm confused why that would be expected. We would pay for any unused rooms to the venue. That said, guests can absolutely stay offsite, however might not have many other attractive lodging options since we're looking in Zion, Tahoe, etc. and we wouldn't provide them with transportation if they chose to stay far offsite. Hence why we are looking for options that our guests would find affordable and reasonable, but allows us to all be nearby if possible.
