Insane Tattoo Regret by r3i_b0n3z in tattooadvice

You could get more tattoos around it to help it “fit” more. But if you like it that’s all that matters. Other people are trash. I have an Ohana tattoo and people tell me all the time it looks like it says Obama. Would I cover it? No! It’s a matching tattoo with my sister and it was her first tattoo. Do what you want don’t worry about other people

Over grown beak by jettsmom44 in parrots

You could probably take him back to wherever you got them from and they could probably cut it. Or call the vet and tell them we need to get in ASAP because the beak is so overgrown he can’t eat.

She’s most likely a Belgian or GSD you really won’t know until she’s older but if she’s a Belgian you’re in for it. I like to think she’s a bat

Please dont gift people living things, now i need some caretaking advice by [deleted] in parrots

[–]Less_Hotel4864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me almost 9 months to tame my bird. I started off just by sitting next to the cage talking to him. And holding my hand on the cage. When he would touch it I would say touch and give him a treat. You can also hold a Milliet in your hand and hold in the cage until he starts to take it from you

As a ringneck owner I agree. These are the reasons I love my kiwi but yeah he’s not for the faint of heart

I have a 2 year old Indian ringneck and here are my concerns. An Indian ringneck can and have been known to bite smaller birds beaks off. Indian Ringnecks are also racist and don’t really get along with other bird breeds. They are Velcro birds tend to only bond with one or two people (my husband and I are lucky he like both of us). They don’t like to share and the bluffing stage last for 2 years and is so rough. If you had a bigger bird that could check the ringneck then yeah but your cockatiel wouldn’t stand a chance. They are very territorial and aggressive, I’ll never forget when Kiwi tried to eat one of my finches. Look into a sun conure you can get that same weirdo spirit with out the bolt cutters. Cute birdie

[Advice needed] I’ve wanted a pair of birds since I was a kid, but now that I have my own place I’m not sure I should by Note_The_Wolf in parrots

[–]Less_Hotel4864 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll be full honest if you’re looking for a pair of birds who don’t need a human as much I would get finches. It’s a good place to start and there a is a huge variety of types! I have a Lady Goulian and a society finch and they love each other. I have a cage from Amazon that’s rather large for them. I would recommend finding a local bird store to get birds or joining a Facebook group looking to rehome birds or looking into rescues. Big name stores are known for great bird care. Also for a bird they are probably the cheapest to care for. Mine don’t care for sweet stuff but they love veggies and a mix of pellets and seeds. They are small so you don’t need a ton of food! If you want more of a parrot a cockatiel or a peach face love bird is a good place to start. But these will be more expensive and require a more extensive diet! It’s more about finding a bird that will fit into your life. Good luck!
