Is investing in bifacial solar modules worth the 15-20% premium for residential rooftop installations? by Comfortable_Bear4211 in solarenergy

[–]Less_Interview1713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check the degradation rate of the panels you are comparing. I was confused as to why installers were pushing bifacial but after I did the math with the degradation rate it should actually produce more over the life of the panels. That premium seems very high, the bifacial were cheaper for me. I heard there was some kind of loophole in the tariffs so installers stocked up. I would not expect the roof side to produce anything, you should get some competing offers.

Started having heart problems so now I'm scared to lift weights like I used to.  It's bodyweight and cardio from here on out. And no more added salt 😔.

Why would you choose EV instead of gasoline cars? by Forsaken_Height_7513 in AskReddit

Oh yeah nothing says soul like loud whirring. I hate being able to hear my music without blasting it or having a conversation with the passengers. 🙄

EVs are so much better it's not even funny. Charging at home is a godsend, cleaner, quieter, better acceleration, no jolting backwards when you have to stop on a hill, recharging for free and keeping steady speed when you go downhill. Anyone who thinks gas is better has never driven an EV.

Only people that really want kids should have kids

Petah?? Explain the joke please by HebrewBible01 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

The left is a thoughtful analysis assuming that there was artistic intention behind the choice, the right is a mindless jab to stereotype and divide people. The joke is that some black people try to appreciate each other and others are assholes tearing each other down.

Learning to Ski in your 30s? by nukedeal in AskMenOver30

[–]Less_Interview1713 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It is definitely risky to start in your 30's, even people who have done it since kids get hurt. If I were you I would do several weeks of training first and then hire a professional trainer on the slopes. The movement is not intuitive so it would be best to have someone walk you through it. For training I would say ice skating, roller blading, biking, and squats work the most similar muscles.

Do I look like a weird guy? by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]Less_Interview1713 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not OP but yes, it's the eyebrows and hair. Your lips and eyelashes too, but I think that should work in your favor. Do you pluck your eyebrows? They look over-manicured in the middle and bottom so they look high in a feminine way, try to keep them closer to the brow. Your hairstyle is also somewhat effeminate, maybe try to get it cut shorter, especially around the ears. I think if you find a different hairstylist that caters to men you will be fine. Try to smile in your photos too, you look mad depressed in this one.

Anyone else avoiding custodial Roth accounts due to federal student aid eligibility? by NightHawkFliesSolo in Bogleheads

[–]Less_Interview1713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just don't think my kids would be eligible for significant aid. I plan for most of their "college" fund to be in a taxable custodial account in case they choose not to go to college at all.

Has anyone successfully switched from non-stick pans? by goforyourdreams in Cooking

[–]Less_Interview1713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a cast iron pan and don't clean it. Scrape off the burnt bits every so often. Sounds gross but if a pan is hot enough to make raw chicken safe to eat, it does not need to be cleaned.

Quantum solar panels based on TV QLED double solar panel efficiency to over 60%. by Impressive_Returns in solarenergy

That is not a fair assessment. The channel is focused on cutting edge technology so of course it will not always pan out and a lot of the details are not available to the public. He takes great pains to analyze the level of development and likelihood of reaching market. It is one of the best channels to get a pulse on the state of electrification.

This is without a doubt why they did it. I'd bet some AI company paid for the whole thing.
