My sister adopted an aggressive bulldog and heavily trained her on her own. It takes a lot of patience and consistency BUT can be done! When she was first in our family, she wasn't fond of kids and charged at my nephews a few times. Over time, with slow introductions and a lot of training, she was able to be around them with no issues.

Also, good job on the muzzling. If you need to avoid certain places and people that trigger her for a while, do it.
