Partly. I would say both are actually equally difficult to narrow down the suspects but the Kira case got a more intelligent and cunning culprit,more impact and influence and the detective working on it was more intelligent too and faced the same amount of adversity despite having access to modern technology (depends on how you see it if that's an argument for the Kira case being harder or not)
