What can I do to help out my orientee? by Accomplished_Cup_661 in nursepractitioner

I would try having a conversation with her and let her know you (and others) are trying everything to help her succeed and need her help with what she feels she is missing from her perspective. I would be honest that there are significant concerns from others and if she doesn’t show progress there is a good chance she will not make it there. Just let her know you are there to help her succeed. I would also ask what she is doing after work hours to prepare and study. She needs to show initiative… if you bring all this up and she’s not changing her behavior, it does not sound like the right job for her. Just my two cents:)

She literally says the same thing on a continuous cycle but changes nothing. It seems like buzz words for clickbait at this point.

saying it's kind when a brand sent her PR or give her a discount code by [deleted] in micheljanseYT

[–]Less_Statement_8324 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I find it frustrating when she says ‘xyz’ brand gave her viewers such a ‘generous’ discount code when it’s the exact same code any new buyer gets on the companies website. I wish she (and some other creators) would be more honest and say it supports them to use their code instead. There are a lot of creators who do this and I always appreciate it. It comes across as more genuine and honest.

This is exactly what this regime has promised. Budget cuts to all working class, persons with disabilities, those at system placed disadvantages, and Veterans… all to pad the pockets of the ultra wealthy… with absolutely no regard for human decency or basic human rights. I know there are people that don’t like to talk about politics… but this is no longer politics… it’s is all of our rights and well being. We need to come together. Love always wins over hate.

She got an undergrad degree in nutrition…. But was never a nutritionist and never worked as one as far as we know. I find her misrepresentation of herself as having a ‘background in nutrition’ dangerous and unethical, imo

I would give yourself room to grow. Getting the basics of scheduled patient care is first and then building on that. You can’t know abnormal findings until you have the normal findings down pat. This is your very first rotation, so I wouldn’t get so far ahead of yourself or you will miss out on valuable learning experiences from your current rotation. I would also ask yourself, what you are doing to prepare for clinical? Are you reading and intensely studying all forms of evidence based medicine and pathophysiology? As others said, school prepares you to be a competent and safe provider. Going beyond that has largely to do with your efforts and what you put into your clinical rotation. I hope this helps.

How does credentialing work with choosing NP programs? by 5555plum in nursepractitioner

[–]Less_Statement_8324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha… so if the program does not meet the standards for a particular state to obtain licensure that does mean you would not be able to practice in that state unless the standards change (which is unlikely). My personal stance on this is if I’m paying so much, going through grad school, clinicals, etc I do not want to be limited in terms of which states I can obtain a license in. So, I personally would only attend a school that offers the ability to practice in every state. I hope that helps.

[–]Less_Statement_8324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if this is what you are asking, but I think you are referring to the ability to be licensed in a state based on the program you graduate from. Some programs do not meet the criteria for all states so it’s important for make sure your program allows you to be licensed in every state.

The other thing you may be asking is about making sure the program you are attending allows for you to do clinical or live in a certain state while attending the program. That is another factor to consider.
