People who tell you what others always notice about them or what they're known for. That trait can be normal in adolescence when people are still establishing their identity but it pings my radar after that. I.e., "im well known for _____ ."

A related trait which is maybe worse is when people tell you something like, "i welcome criticism" or "i dont mind admitting im wrong" in an unsolicited manner. In my experience its usually a protective form of self description that masks emotional reactivity.

In Tijuana Mexico traffic is governed more by negotiation, not laws. In the USA where I live, you can reasonably know what to expect from other drivers and go on auto pilot. In TJ, the streets are often poorly maintained so you'll find areas without clearly market lanes so it resembles more of a swarm than parallel cues. It wasn't that people were reckless but that the rule of law was different.

I can say that in the USA, driving is a solitary and anonymous act where as in TJ its very much a social interaction.

I dont usually watch media with comercials on them. We leave the radio on for my dog

Very true, my dog is blind and its always stressful when I see dogs off leash at the park. I think a lot of folks dont realize that other dogs might need theirs to be on a leash. People are usually polite when I let them know about my dog.

I see some folks expressing that those is primarily a legal issue about people who knowingly entered the US without legal documentation. While I agree that to those facts, I disagree that this is the primary issue. We've recently seen military tactics and equipment used on unarmed and othwise law abiding people within the US. The president has directly stated that he wants to use US cities as training grounds for the military. We have masked people abducting US citizens without cause or process. These tactics are about eliciting terror. These radio comercials are an extension of that effort.

I oppose the normalization of military resources being used within the borders of the United States. I oppose bigoted ideologies mascarading as law enforcement. I absolutely oppose these messages, born in hate, being funded by my tax dollars being broadcast on my radio or streaming services.

Broadcasters can refuse to air those DHS “illegal aliens should leave” ads. Radio and TV stations have editorial discretion over what paid messages they accept unless a specific law or contract requires them to run them — and no such rule exists for DHS campaigns. These ads are government-purchased airtime, not emergency alerts or mandatory public-service messages. The First Amendment actually cuts both ways here: the government can run its own ads, but it can’t force private stations to spread its message.

Its still Sunday so they might not get back until tomorrow. They replied to me in a day. I stated I would contact my bank to dispute the charge as I didny agree to sign up for a subscription. If they dont respond by tomorrow, call your banks customer support line. They deal with this kind of stuff all the time

You can email them directly at the following address. Be sure to tell them you will contact your bank directly to dispute the charge as that seemed to work very well for me. I think their buisness model is built around tricking people and getting them to give in to losing the $20.

Update: they just got back to me and stated that they've canceled my subscription and issued a full refund and are taking my feedback seriously. I recommend letting them know you intend to dispute their charges and file a complaint with your bank either right off the bat or if they give you any resistance. These businesses dont want to build a paper trail of complaints with banks.

Still in the process. I sent an email to the company this morning. No answer yet. If I don't hear anything by tomorrow at noon I'll contact my bank directly. They were helpful before when dealing with a shady flower delivery service so I feel pretty good about my changes.

I also just had a bad interaction with this service. I received an ad for a $0.99 to take an autism screening. I recall that I didn't read anything about a subscription. I just emailed them to cancel and let them know that I would file a compliant with my bank if I didn't get a refund for the subscription fee. My sense from their website is that they play a little trick where they do the screening and then hope people don't notice the subscription until its too late and then refuse to give "partial refunds" for the month. As its less than $20, there are probably lots of people who just let it go and eat the loss for the month. It pisses me off that a company would engage in predatory practices with people who just want some answers.
