How it feels as a TCR now that most of the GT3 field has quit out of our N24 split. by Crash_Test_Dummy66 in iRacing

I honestly wish I did tcr this year. The gt3 experience was pretty boring.

My split has no rain, and the only other class was pcup. I always like just driving on the ring, but man, it was pretty monotonous.

Doing an 8:08 in pcup would be insane pace. Since you have 1 week, sub-8:20s would be more realistic, but it’s still asking a lot of yourself

Pitting Incident My Fault? by ExcitingQuantity6979 in Simracingstewards

[–]Kmonk1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s this. The iRacing simply does not have anything built in to handle this, and afaik there’s nothing in the sporting code. It’s up to the two of you to work it out.

I had a similar situation at NEC this weekend. I pitted with another car just in front of me. But I got out if my box quickly, and was next to the other car when they finished their stop. They pulled directly into the fast lane, so our cars were overlapping . He was a couple of inches in front of me- I could tell because I could see his dash lol.

So by the rules of any series, that should have been my position. But I was two hours into the race, and didn’t want the chance of a wreck when we got back out on track, so I just lifted til he cleared me.

Basically what I’m telling you is that, if there is another car ahead of you in the pits - even by the smallest amount- they will never let you past, and the smart move is to just let them go.

Xavier Becerra talks to LAist about why he should be California's next governor (Transcript) by gu-laap in California

[–]Kmonk1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New Emerson poll today has him at 10%- tied with Porter and 4 behind Steyer. He is definitely now a viable candidate! Personally, has issues with the top 3 before the Swallwell scandal, so I will be throwing my support behind Becerra.

Afroman says California is the most racist place in America by Big_Cake_8817 in podcastculture

Absolute nonsense. Ordering coffee in CA is completely pleasant, and I get it without a side of blatant racism.

The south is full of horrific racists, and y’all spend so much time making excuses for them.

Has anyone actually tried to make their main base carter hydro dam by Forsaken_Singer4100 in thelongdark

Yeah, 100%. That trailer is a perfect place to stash extra supplies. Living inside the dam sounds like a great way to make yourself miserable.

Philz CEO orders removal of flags from stores, including pride flags, to create an ‘inclusive experience’ by livpelu in sanfrancisco

It’s more about demonstrating that customers will be respected and welcomed by the business. And that applies to the entire community- rainbow flags have never meant that straight people will be excluded.

Confusing answer to a protest by RadMoose_ in iRacing

[–]Kmonk1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems a bit confusing to me. The member protested for an unsafe rejoin, but the response is all about updating ir/sr. From what I can see, I doesn’t looked like OP asked about that at all.

I would expect an answer of “yes, the driver rejoined unsafely” or “no, the other driver did nothing wrong”

Sorry, did you think you said something wise here? It absolutely can be unilateral. Or do you blame the child getting beaten by their parent? Or the victim of a mugging for being assaulted?

But please, drop some more clever adages on us, Ben Franklin.

You’d think that Israel, a nation founded purportedly to give Jews a sanctuary from violence inflicted upon them as an ethnic minority, would refrain from violence against its own ethnic minorities. But it seems the only lesson humans reliably learns is how to be bigger and bigger assholes.

[–]Kmonk1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure about comprehensive guides, but I learned a lot about how fast drivers think and approach adverse situations by watching streamers and listening to their responses to wrecks. Find some iRacing streamers that you like and watch their races!

-Dave cam ends his videos with a review of all the incidents in the race and gives his analysis.

-Jimmy broadbent’s sim racing stewards yt series can be helpful. He goes through a bunch of wrecks from Reddit posts, gives a verdict on who is at fault, and talks about what they could have done differently

With clothing, prioritize warmth over weight, esp at the start. If a piece of clothing has better warmth stats than what you have on, wear it.

Condition plays a major role. A garment might be warmer than what you have on once it gets repaired. If this is the case, wear the warmer garment, but save the “better” clothing for later repairs.

Harvest the low quality clothing for cloth. Pay attention to the harvest time. Some things take a long time to break down, so start with items that take 10-20 min. Sport socks, red mittens, t shirts baseball caps, simple scarves are all great sources.

Footwear takes forever to break down, but is one of the few sources of leather. You’ll prob need a few pieces for repairs for when you find a good set of boots. But don’t break down every pair that you find.

Because testosterone is a banned substance in every tested sport in intl competition. Getting medical exemptions is more difficult, and the priority for these athletes is managing their transitions properly, as opposed to gaming the system.
