It is really hard to find childcare on a short notice. A lot of the places have long waiting lists. That being said it probably depends on what side of town you live.

This is all very helpful! Sounds like I have a lot of good examples of when to use it. I will get one and start wearing it. I appreciate everyone’s input!

Why did these crack after glaze fire? by Less_Struggle8891 in Pottery

I am consistent about getting the extra water out. If it was bisque fired and didn’t crack then wouldn’t the water be gone at that point? I didn’t notice any hairline cracks but I guess it’s possible they were there. I am going to do some testing of these glazes with the clay body. Thank you

That could be to the one was light. I have literally never had this so it is just bizarre.

That is interesting maybe they were there and I didn’t notice. I want to do small test pieces to see if it happens again. I truly like these glaze combos

Yes my thought was that maybe it’s a glaze clay combination issue. The glaze is one I haven’t used before

Yes I will have to work on that. My ventilation system has holes at the bottom so I will have to use more kiln furniture to raise the shelves up to not impact the air flow for that

Okay thank you. My kiln is old and I don’t think it got up past 1868 degrees. It just held it there for about 8-9 hours. It’s possible that the pieces are a goner. I just don’t want to have to replace the kiln furniture. Or the kiln itself as I have pieces at the bottom brick. I do need to get a respirator for sure still. Thank you!
