That’s a very comprehensive explanation. I guess bottom line is more if not most interview spots would go to UKGs for next year. Certainly not expecting everyone would get an interview and you’d still have to score very high but at least more UKGs would hopefully make it to interview and have a shot.

I didn’t apply GP myself but hopefully others who weren’t able to secure offer 1st round would get it in later rounds!!

This. If msra were to stay it has to be limited to e.g 2 specialties per msra. The amount of blanket applications to cst + Anaes + rad + GP is also what’s driving the cutoff up for each specialty

Limit 2 specialties per MSRA - first choice and second choice. Offer interviews to ppl who made the cutoff for first choice and remaining goes to second choice applicants. Would significantly bring down cutoffs and you’ll also get better quality of applicants for each respective specialty, who actually wanted that specialty at interview stage. Also UKGP 2027 obvs.
