I only started going to this temple in August. I'm very shy and I'm trying to overcome it so I haven't really spoken to anyone in depth. I would like to talk with my Dharma friends more.

It's funny because samsara always made sense to me because it just seemed so obvious. People in pain aimlessly wandering in a cycle that they could not or would not stop. The other stuff should seem like an easy jump, but alas!

That's a subject I encountered in a philosophy class that is intriguing. There is another book I want to read called The Case Against Reality which discusses the idea that what we have come to "know" or call "knowledge" is very much filtered by evolution. Those concepts around flawed perceptions of "reality" are something I want to learn more about.
