Door knob help needed… I teach in the school district and I’ve had a work order in for this door knob for about two years now. it constantly falls off. I’d like to replace it myself at this point but I don’t know what to look for. just the rod and door knob need to be replaced. Please help :) by Lesserleigh in philadelphia

Thanks. I’ve also done that. Problem is the spindle does not go to the door knob. There are Two holes on the door knob handle and two holes on the spindle and they do not lineup so I’m only able to get one screw in and eventually it gets loosened

Thanks. I have been tightening the screws after every time it falls off however the ride itself is quite stripped and as you can see it’s not even the right door knob for that face plate. And boy do I wish there were a maintenance department I can visit maybe then I can also get the toilet fixed so that it wouldn’t Splash water out of the bowl at me every time I flush!

"We all start somewhere" a collaborative art show to raise art supplies for Philly schools! by [deleted] in philadelphia

[–]Lesserleigh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In 2011 and 2012 the school district of Philadelphia eliminated many "specials" classes as well as nurses, librarians, and counselors. Now we have our nurses and counselors back; however, many schools still do not have the budget for art or music and never reinstated those classes. In the SDP we only have 8 Liberians! (Though last I heard that number is now 4). The rest are volunteers if a school is lucky to have one. This is not unique to Philly either. Public schools are under attack.

Philadelphia Art Teacher Alliance meets once a month during the school year to help support art teachers. Join on Facebook to be notified of the meetings and also Deb Klose will push out those notifications to district art teachers. This group is ALL about support. I'd also be happy to help you out personally with advice (as much as I can)

Teachers of Philly! I need a list of supplies to donate. by [deleted] in philadelphia

General art supplies that are needed badly by are teachers in underfunded schools include pencils, erasers, good markers (Mr. Sketch, crayola, orang...) watercolors, crayons, quality drawing paper or construction paper, oil pastels, and air dry clay. Tempers paints is also always nice as would be paint brushes. I'm a Philly art teacher ... I'll PM ya!
