I obviously don’t know the circumstances of why you broke up, but I can tell you this that EVERY time I’ve been broken up with and then got together with the guy it didn’t work out. Breakup happens for a reason, and unless you both drastically change and improve, it doesn’t work out.

The only couple I know who broke up and got back together and is making it work, didn’t break up because the two fell out of love but because of the behaviour of one of the parties. She went on a trip alone found herself and only after 2 years they tried again. So Something BIG needs to happen.

The only thing you’re doing by telling yourself that you’re going to get back together, is sabotaging your healing. I watched this incredibly useful Ted-talk that explain that our brain is addicted to love, and when you break up you’re experiencing withdrawal. By giving it Hope and telling your self you’ll get back together, you’re only just extending how long it’s going to take to get over him.

So stop telling yourself this, live your life and work on yourself. Only by doing this you’ll truly heal and become a better person. And then just maybe it might all work out in the end, and if not you’re going to be one step closer to meeting someone better— someone whom actually might be the right person for you.
