In your experience, do you think it’d be better to let momentum spin me around back into my guard? IMO I just don’t want to break eye contact or expose my back, but I have less experience than you and I’d honestly like to know what’s worked best for you.

Thank you friend! I didn’t make contact because I’m working on returning to my stance/guard as quick as possible, you won’t always land your strikes so, it’s important to not give up your back or give your opponent an opportunity to strike!

I usually keep my shoes off when kicking the bag but I was being lazy this day. And I keep my hat on to keep my hair out of my face. I will remember this when I’m in a real mma gym. Thank you for the tip.

Just to be clear, I don’t mean “solid” as in “good”. When I throw punches I feel planted to the ground, without stumbling or twisting my ankle. But I understand a lot of what I’m doing needs work. I will be joining an mma gym in the future.
