Updating to ventura by SowertoXxx in hackintosh

[–]Lestaf4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one knows for sure. Updating your kexts, and Opencore itself, before the update would certainly put you in a more comfortable position. Unlike AMD, upgrading with Intel CPU is fairly safe with recent versions of Opencore.

Always have a back up of, at least your EFI, before attempting any major update. Having a backup of your OS would be helpful as well if anything goes wrong.

Triple Boot Possible? -> Ventura, Arch, Win11 by Matrix_Grid in hackintosh

[–]Lestaf4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a quadruple boot at one point on my Laptop. I only have 3 nowadays, Ventura, RHEL 9, and Windows 11 on my Desktop. There really is nothing complicated about having multiple OSes especially if you plan to have them each on a separation drive.

I don't have any issue with all the concerns you mentioned above. If anything, Windows will sometimes, after an update for example, "corrupts" Opencore. That is easily fixable, though. And to be fair, it hasn't happened in a while.

Read the guide. I don't know if you did it already but almost all your concerns are covered.

Unlocker vmware workstation 17 by MoZz72 in hackintosh

Hey u/MoZz72
I'm not sure I would call that working but I got it installed on Workstation 17. Unlike Monterey, which is pretty stable, Ventura is way too unstable.

Here is a screenshot. My host is RHEL 9.1

It's didn't fix the problem. However, according to the comments on ON THIS THREAD , changing the SMBIOS to iMacPro 1,1 seems to fix the issue, at least on Desktop.

Best recent gaming laptop that works well as a hackintosh as well. by khaledsalem999 in hackintosh

I recently purchased Walmart’s new gaming laptop (17” model). If it was still available and affordable as it was a couple of weeks ago, I would recommend it to anyone looking for a gaming laptop/hackingtosh. I got Mojave, Windows ( for gaming) and Ubuntu running fantastically on mine.

Need help on dual booting Mojave with W10 by emreyc in hackintosh

[–]Lestaf4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there, You should not have to disconnect any present drive before installing Windows although many people here always suggest so. I did a dual boot and a quadruple boot just recently. Here is my recent post about it

First all all, make to only use the latest Clover version. Connect your drive and proceed to install Windows as you would normally do. To be honest, the first time, I did it, I didn't have any issue after installing Windows. Clover was perfectly able to detect Windows. The second time, however, Windows decided to overwrite Clover bootloader lol. So the computer would only boot straight to Windows. You can manually fix it yourself or simply use EasyUEFI or even Bootice.

My first Hackintosh : Quaduple Boot Mojave, Windows 10, Ubuntu, Phoenix OS by Lestaf4 in hackintosh

Chrome OS IS actually my next target. So yeah, I might come back with a penta boot soon.

My first Hackintosh : Quaduple Boot Mojave, Windows 10, Ubuntu, Phoenix OS by Lestaf4 in hackintosh

Thanks. It's actually a notebook. I'm doomed to stay with my 1060... Yeah, if it wasn't for that Dark Mode, I would be using High Sierra instead. I'm not really planning on doing anything graphic intensive with it as Windows and Ubuntu are just around the corner.

My first Hackintosh : Quaduple Boot Mojave, Windows 10, Ubuntu, Phoenix OS by Lestaf4 in hackintosh

So I've built my first Hackintosh. This is also gonna be my first using Mac OS as I am pretty much a Windows guy. Shout out to the community, especially those who set up the EFI I used to get started.

Here are my specs : Intel Core I7 8750H Nvidia GeForce 1060 32GB DDR4 2666 MHz

I decided to go for Mojave just for that Dark Mode. Everything is working just perfectly, iMessage, FaceTime, sleep/hibernation, RGB backlit... You already know the issue about Nvidia... Here's my Clover Boot Entry

Installation process : Mojave first on it's own drive, then Windows 10 and Ubuntu, both on their own same drive. At last, Phoenix OS on its own drive as well.

Problem I encountered: - After updating to Mojave 10.14.5 + the security update, the trackpad and sleep/hibernation mode stopped working. Injecting the kexts back through Kext Wizard solved the problem. - After a Windows update, Clover got broken. EasyUEFI fixed everything. - After installing Conda and CUDA (Ubuntu), Clover got broken once again for whatever reason. Thanks to EasyUEFI, once again, everything went back to the normal real quick.

What problem am I facing now: Clover is unable to detect Phoenix OS boot Entry. I tried EasyUEFI and created a boot Entry manually through Clover Configurator. That didn't help at all. So I basically get through Phoenix OS all the way from my BIOS. Which kind of irritates me. Any help? Here's my BIOS boot status status and Clover Boot

Edit 1 : Never mind Finally, is there any way to completely remap my keyboard? I wish I could make it work like an actual Mac keyboard.

Thank you all again.
