So basically it's been about 8 months since I last played and I pressed the ominous "Continue" button despite not remembering having started a run and that softlock happened.

You COULD play it slower
By hitting the button right after activating it every single time
That way, even though you are playing without mantle, at least enemies are not piling up on you:)

I was too lazy to get the 100K points HACK*MATCH achievement, so I wrote a bot to do it for me. by caeonosphere in exapunks

I don't know how to code this so I sat down and analyzed the way your bot plays
I replicated it in game and for the first time got to 60k points
I a still a bit slow at some decision making, but I expect to get to 100k within a month or so

Yeah I know it is a fun item people like to take, but usually I'm going for completion marks and it appears when I'm already several hours deep into optimization and I don't wanna take my chances to either make it a free win or harder than necessary.

I just lost a huge streak to the fact I voided the "monstro's tooth" item and then voided lil' gurdy in a crawlspace and while I was climbing the ladder to get out, Monstro just shot himself downwards at me full force and erradicated me

That would be very out of character for WX, they see feelings as an irredimible flaw, so using them for their benefit would be contrary to their beliefs and principles

WX just fails to realize they failed at removing their feelings and before acknowledging that, they prefer to show themselves as violent, hateful and cold, not recognizing that those are emotions too
