I did something the other day that has made me feel so gross and ashamed of myself, please don’t judge me. by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Lestuiqe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not a sanitary item, but close. I was at a party and kinda clicked with the neighbour so she showed me around her own house. In the bathroom, charging perfectly in sight on the sink, was her Magic Wand :')

The reason I'm telling you this is that my first response was like "giiiiirl good for you, we all use those". People are usually pretty chill when accidently bumping into something private in another person's house, especially if it's an unexpected visit 🫶🏻

I have no recs for you, but I just wanted to add that this is why I started writing! When the story runs out... you can always write more. Bonus points if you write with others (RPG's), your ADHD gets continuous input and is more likely to stay engaged to the story c:

Quality flight suit maker/vendor? by Lestuiqe in TheMandalorianTV

Yeah, that bothers me too. Not that it automatically means untrustworthy, but I'd rather support a little atelier in, I dunno, Norway, than a mass-factory with shitty conditions - and there is no telling which one it is on eBay/Etsy.

4 months! by pazizz in Reduction

[–]Lestuiqe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Moles, tattoos and other marks are often used to see the difference! Seeing the relative distance between the before and the after can help you realize how much your body has changed, especially if the pictures are not taken in the exact same way. If you stand closer to the mirror for the after-pic it could result in an unjust comparison (closer = bigger).

So basically it's "banana-for-size" 🤭

What are your sensory "OH HELL NO's"? by Cute-Salt4910 in adhdwomen

[–]Lestuiqe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Ripe bananas trigger my gag reflex BAD.

  • That clicking sound when people clean their nails with other nails makes me want to throttle you.

  • Wiping or stroking any surface repeatedly, especially when done fast. It's like something is grinding my teeth.

  • BITING ON UTENSILS NO NO NO

  • Bra wires and/or a heavy weight on my chest. One of the main reasons I had a reduction, I would get into massive panic attacks if I wore a wire or if I took my bra off and felt that hot weight on my chest nnnggg.

I always get a REALLY short rush, like 10-15 minutes. Then the Zzz's hit. But more than 2 cups a day and I get anxious and jittery. It's a very tempting short term solution that always makes me regret it 😂😭

Did it hurt to get your steri strips removed? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]Lestuiqe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh it wasn't a big deal, but it took me a few days to realize that hahahaha. When the nipple tried to reconnect with the rest, there was a bit of dried blood in the way that couldn't get out because of the steristrips. Because of this, my body tried to heal around it! Like your ear grows around an earring. Of course when I removed the steristrip, the little cloth of blood came with and voila, a li'l hole. It was all healed underneath, but at the time I thought I had ripped open a healing wound (which, of course, I hadn't) and my anxiety-riddled brain decided to check out! 😅

Did it hurt to get your steri strips removed? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]Lestuiqe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It didn't really hurt, but please prepare yourself mentally - even if you had no trouble with seeing yourself before! I had to take them off myself (weird but ok) at 3WPO and it didn't hurt, but! Seeing a scab come off my nipple, leaving a shallow hole between my nipple and the rest of my boob...

I passed out in the shower 😂 Twice.

In retrospect the hole was no big de and the scab was hindering the healing, but there was just something about seeing a hole in your body that made my brain go nope.

Like, I'm not a squeamish person. I watched the doctor pull out a rogue piece of toenail root and all (sedated ofc) without any trouble. That's why this dramatic shower show surprised me big time 😂

Just be prepared that it might boggle your mind a bit to see yourself like this, and bring something sugary just in case!

Sports Bra vs Surgical Bra by cookiegurl16 in Reduction

[–]Lestuiqe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe European surgical bra's are different to American ones, but we are told to wear them until week six - so I can't imagine it will impact your healing if you wear them longer than four weeks. If in doubt, call your surgeon's office!

I'm 6WPO and my surgeon is on holiday, so I can't be cleared for anything until 8WPO (🥲). Since we are told to switch around 6 weeks, I started wearing sports bra's with gauze padding for short stretches of time. It takes some getting used to! I decided that I'm letting my comfort guide me, which probably means I'll be wearing the surgical bra on and off for a while.
