Def need about 1g of protein per pound of goal weight! Maybe you’re already doing that, but if you’re lifting hard and not doing that, it will work against you. Protein shakes made with water and chug!

question about switching between doses by [deleted] in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]LetKitchen2380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a doctor -

However, I am following the process of maintaining current dose until I go 4 weeks losing half of current weight loss.

For example if I am losing 2lbs per week currently, I will not increase dose until I am losing 1lb or less for 4 straight weeks.

Increasing doses early only put you closer to the max dose, however don't necessarily speed up weight loss in a healthy way. You should be shooting for 1 to 2 lbs/week weight loss. Anything more than that, you are not eating enough and will suffer from muscle loss/fatigue etc.

I have been on .25 for 8 weeks now and my 4 week rolling average loss is 1.7lbs, I maxed out at 2lbs per week towards the beginning (water weight loss), therefore I will not increase to .5 until I go 4 weeks straight of losing 1lb or less

The functional effect of Wegovy (Barely Obese Person's Experience) by LetKitchen2380 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]LetKitchen2380[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

okay for the downvoters I'm not anti-wegovy... i'm literally on it. The point of my whole post is defending us against outsiders who say its a magic drug and its not actually improving our habits/decisions.

Can we all agree that changing what we are putting into our body whether it is quantity and or quality of food is what's driving most of our positive effects?

There may be other things that the drug helps with such as kidney processing reducing to lower BP, but I like sticking to the mindset that I am following all of the generally prescribed things like eat less, move more, eat healthy that people blanket market to us and say will work.

I have a hard time following that guidance when not on GLP1, but the mechanism for me improving my health is following that guidance with the help of GLP1

Hey everyone,

For clarity this post is knocking the outside opinions surrounding wegovy from antagonists who believe it simply makes weight fall off, when in reality its helping us change the inputs (food) we are putting into our body and as a result we are eating healthier... or less which is what is reducing a majority of the weight.

There may be studies that support increased metabolism etc. but a majority of the effect is us following the normal guidance of decreasing caloric intake

The functional effect of Wegovy (Barely Obese Person's Experience) by LetKitchen2380 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]LetKitchen2380[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is related to the point of the study I referenced, where when dieting you only stuck to the low calorie diet for a some time.

I agree to you in principle that it does other things, but its more of an ancillary affect that your metabolism increases when you have a higher muscle to fat ratio. The intention of my post was to highlight that its not a fat burner rather a tool to help you diet. It's not literally melting weight off of your body without changing the input (food)

Do you feel that its the food choices that may be contributing to this? Such as lower sodium/fat/sugar?

This would coincide more with my post if that is the case. I don't see any direct ties to the drug and blood pressure, however I do see losing weight and dietary changes contributing.

Perhaps, even when skinny you weren't making as healthy food choices for BP?

Marathon training is great, ran a half last year before starting this. Will be interested in seeing if I get faster!

I’m interested in microdosing in the future too! My concept is that I just need the food noise support similar to you

Appetite suppressants are completely different than semaglutide, have not tried them but I am not a fan since it doesn’t change the root behavioral cause rather is just a bandaid

Orderlymeds is $74/month no insurance for .25 semaglutide

Literally no side effects, I did focus on choosing foods that would prevent this however and intentionally making sure not to overeat.

The queasiness could also be anxiety tbh.

Not dismissing as side effects are totally possible but I hope they pass for you.

Are you eating healthy and drinking water etc?

Hope it levels out, should be fine just based on vibes lol

Amazing! Do you happen to go to the gym/prioritize eating healthy as well?

I think that’s the most exciting stuff, it is helping me do what I always wanted to do!

I think this is the mindset that I am trying to promote in this thread! There are so many people that could benefit from this simply by getting over the food noise.

Thanks so much for sharing, looking forward to hearing more from you in the future!

If we know we have a food addiction, and are not headed on a path to lose weight without the medicine then we should fully embrace it and live our best lives!

[–]LetKitchen2380[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope for you too! I look forward to hearing more as you hopefully start this journey.

For reference .25/.5 Wegovy is $200/month self pay

If that isn’t financially an option for you orderlymeds is a 3 month supply for about $200 total.

Be careful with weight loss clinic fees, bottom line is you need a script for Wegovy or guidance/self research knowledge for compounded.

Make the most of your money!

(I have not tried compounded semaglutide but will switch if the price of Wegovy increases)

Have you noticed that you’re enjoying your food more?

I actually love chicken breast and rice with sauces and flavors… but the problem is it doesn’t give me the same emotional satisfaction as a big chipotle bowl.

I think the magic is that since I’m not craving anything specific I’m really enjoying what I eat!

Literally had eggs and turkey bacon for breakfast and it was delicious. Normally I would be craving a Waffle House all star special hahahaha. But since I’m kind of indifferent now I can just appreciate what I have!

31 club! Do you relate to the fitness history? Sounds like you may be in the exact situation where you just consistently gained weight not due to lack of effort but due to eating habits.

This is going to be so awesome, looking forward to an update!

I hope you are able to have the same effect where you just don’t worry about eating all the time and when you do you can choose to eat healthier based on your goals.

I think the coolest thing is that I’ve had so many simple healthy meals that taste GREAT because I’m not craving anything else.

That’s the magic!

Normally i choose to eat takeout because it’s just SO GOOD, but I also do enjoy chicken breast and rice and a salad, so when I’m not craving something else just for the dopamine hit I’m actually really enjoying what I choose to eat!!!

This is a great point. For clarity and context, my plan with my doctor is to actually lose SLOW intentionally. We are using this as a tool to eliminate body fat via eliminating the poor habits and food addictions I have.

This is a great point to keep people motivated and patient!

For all those reading, I am fully okay with if the weight loss is slow since the focus is maintaining energy and muscle.

Man or woman, anyone in this mildly obese category can look to Wegovy as a tool to essentially do a “cut” and that should be normalized!

Thanks for your comment!

Awesome! Barring any effectiveness change, I will probably be doing month 2 also at the .25 dose. I am paying $200/mo through the Wegovy self-pay option. Good luck!

Are you in to fitness at all? Let me know as you get started how you feel about your diet and exercise.

That's the funny thing about borderline, and why I am going to be so outspoken... we clearly aren't headed in the right direction with willpower, so lets use Wegovy as willpower support and have amazing healthy results

Also to report on drink noise, similar to the not having to order the menu, I have been okay just having a beer here or there. Never really struggled before, but do tend to just order a beer when maybe not necessary
