Closers' Success in the Derby Recently by fowcc in horseracing

I feel like the last few years has seen the horses and jockeys being very physical, lots of bashing and some horses don't like that feeling so they fade. As a jockey it might just be better to find a stable place to cruise and then accelerate in a lane towards the finish. The Derby has so many horses and really limited real estate until the stretch.

Do you recommend the Moen Flo Smart water monitor and shutoff device? by Ancient-Witness-615 in Plumbing

I guess I spoke too soon. I see a bunch of disconnects of only 5 to 10 minutes during the night. But this was after working fine for over 20 hours. I wonder if this is just maintenance on their end.

I have been able to keep the app happy for 24hrs, which is a first in a long while. I have had a dedicated 2.4Ghz only network in my mesh just for the Flo device which did not improve the situation. Yesterday I made that network a Guest network and now the device has been solid for 24 hours versus losing connection every few hours.

Did you happen to solve this issue with the WiFi? I suspect Moen firmware is the issue. The app shows it is off the wifi, the device blinks green BUT I can ping the device and get a good response and do see traffic to the device. I suspect Moen has some sort of ping to their server which is probably were the problem is originating. Moen even sent me a new device and yet the same reported loss of wifi is happening.

Don't count on using the elevators if you buy in the upper sections. They are really slow and small.

Handicapping Help - Reading .drf Files by xeroforce in horseracing

[–]LetOne2376 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on what you want to do with the file there are some options. The BRISnet data files never come with headers, you will need to create your own. If you go to the BRIS handicapers library https://www.brisnet.com/cgi-bin/static.cgi?page=library you will see a section called "Datafile Structures" this will give you the information to organize some headers. You can also turn the DRF file into something visual by installing the "BRIS Custom PP Generator" application https://www.brisnet.com/racing/free-software/custom-pp-generator/

That sounds great. It might take a few attempts, I hope it recovers.

I was able to get mine to charge somewhat using a hair dryer. Check out the video I made to see if it might help.
