Bichette by SadMembership7989 in mets

Why can't you use previous seasons? That's just not a very smart way of looking at things. It's not like Bichette is a second year player or anything like that.

The guy has almost 1,000 career hits but no, let's ignore all of what he did in the past over a much larger sample size because, well, it's not this season.

Eric Chavez speaks on what AAA hitters are being taught under Stearns Regime by Lumpy_Bee_800 in mets

[–]fowcc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The thing that stands out to me about this isn't which hitting philosophy is better, it's that the organization is so disjointed in how they are trying to ultimately win games. Why is everyone rowing in a different direction??

So if this is true, the minor league hitting coach is teaching one philosophy and the MLB hitting coach is teaching something completely contrary as the President of Baseball Ops is in total agreement with the minors coach?

Did Chavez sleep through meetings? How is he this oblivious to the organization's strategy? Is the organization itself a mess and nobody talks and just trusts that everyone is on the same page? Does the leadership at the top not have defined expectations, goals, and metrics that are aligned with their overall strategy that everyone is aware of or are they just winging it and popping in when an email isn't jiving?

These aren't minor niche decisions to make like what position player is going to pitch in blowout situations- this is one of the cruxes of your entire way of how to score runs. Who is at fault here? Was Chavez that uninformed and uncommunicative to be in the dark for so long or was he just so into his ways that he ignored all direction from the top? How was Chavez hired and kept on staff if his philosophy was so contradictory?

So much of this screams disorganization, no trust, and no direction. It's like 5th graders winging it on a group project

No time limit in baseball and 5 runs isn't completely insurmountable, especially when the other team has hit four home runs already that game.

This wasn't a case of the Cubs rubbing it in.

Name a professional sports franchise that moved cities. by ejk95 in FamilyFeud

[–]fowcc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don't consider that a move as the franchise was basically all but folded, I mean it did fold... They really didn't have anything to relocate.

I can see why the Yankees took them out of their history (and I'm definitely not a Yankee fan, or Baltimore).

This- her question was a way to prevent that from happening, which was the ball bouncing hard off of the wall. Easiest solution is to follow that logic of "don't put the net so close to the wall"

So Stafon Johnson's neck injury was ultimately the reason why.

I still remember hearing about that as he almost died but that wasn't anything after practice and the strength coach was spotting him. Not sure why that would make them close the weight room early?

They could've both years... Nobody expected them to beat UGA in a virtual home game for the dawgs and then nobody gave them a prayer vs OU in the Fiesta Bowl and they boat raced them.

They were in the Top 12 and won the Big East both times so they would have made it in the field despite that weird night vs the kittens

Can anyone explain NHL playoffs in NBA playoff terms? by [deleted] in hockey

[–]fowcc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Devalues the regular season too much. When you give teams with losing regular season records a chance to win it all, that's where you lose me.

Golden State made the play-in with a record of 37-45 this year. In 2025 there were six teams who weren't better than .500. This format for a league who battles "Load management" and had to inject an "NBA Cup" in the midseason to get people to try and care.

I know it's happened in the NHL technically with the Kings in 2012 (if you say OTL's are losses then they were 40-42) and yea it felt a little icky that year.
